It is used in underwater photography to better balance and control the buoyancy of camera equipment.
Underwater cameras, especially those with housings, lights, and arms, can be quite heavy and negatively buoyant. This makes them more difficult to handle and can be tiring when diving.

By adding a buoyancy ring, you can offset some of that negative buoyancy, making the camera system neutrally or slightly positively buoyant. This improves handling, reduces fatigue, and provides smoother movements, which is essential for taking stable, high-quality underwater photos or videos. It also helps prevent the camera from sinking quickly if you accidentally drop it.

Made of high-density, closed-cell polyurethane foam, it features a 25mm diameter center hole, compatible with most aluminum arms on the market. The outer diameter is 9cm and the total length is 6.5cm.
