Bought this for my wife as I have used one for a number of years. The sound can be heard underwater at a slightly greater distance than a rattle device. As long as you keep it well clean and free from salt corrosion it will last for years. I strip, clean and lubricate it every year to maintain good condition.

Bought this “quacker” for teaching as one of my fellow instructors had one and I found it was much easier to use than a shaker to get students’ attention as it had a unique sound. So far very happy with it.

This product was good for a laugh on the boat as it sounded like a duck quacking however if you require it to potentially save your life look elsewhere. It is not loud enough on the surface or underwater and mine has broken after less than 20 dives. poor effort for something that should be easy to make.
