Designed to minimize volume and weight, the Cressi Nano Dark diving mask is ideal for those who enjoy being underwater with the highest possible degree of freedom. Harpooners, depth swimmers and apnea practitioners alike will be able to perform to their own limits thanks to the Nano Dark’s ample 122º horizontal, 107º vertical cone of visibility.

The secret behind this amazing level of vision is a silicone-built, fully transparent low-thickness skirt; reducing its weight to barely 125 grams, and sporting a monohull design, the Nano Dark has a reduced lens/face distance that prevents the feared suction effect and provides greater sealing and waterproofing.

The Nano Dark’s anatomical design is complemented by swivelling buckles anchored in the mask to generate a stable, light fit. The texture of the Nano Dark’s silicone straps also allows easy, fluid adjustments even when wearing gloves.

NANO provides a group of technical advantages that Cressi has been incorporating in the last seasons in different models.

It combines a great technicality with a captivating design and medium dimensions, both of the frame and of the skirt.

Its structure has reduced thickness in one only piece, without sieges, allows a great lightness (125 g) and a surprising crystal closer to the eyes with the consequently advantages in relation to visibility and internal volume reduction.

The face frame is radial (not axial); the frame, divided in two parts that connect by a clip, surrounds the crystal acting as a clamp. This system improves the mask watertightness, cancels any uncomfortable contact possibility between frame and front, and removes any vision from the inside to the frame central area.

Its skirt optimizes the empty gaps and reduces the internal volume until only 85 cm3. The lens / face distance has been reduced to the limit that the skirt doesn’t make the known suction effect, it simply settles on the face providing the perfect watertightness thanks to its design and its studied relation thickness / silicone rigidity level.

The inclined lenses are extended via soft curved lines over the cheekbones, improving the inferior and side visibility which are practically unlimited. The extremely thin frame and the studied assembly with the delicate frontal bone area optimize the superior visibility without damaging the adaptation ability.

The buckles, assembled into the frame to achieve a better mask stability and an adjustable tension, are completely folding and tilting in all ways. That’s why the breaking possibility is almost inexistent. This kind of anchorage helps to improve also the mask stability, because the strip tension is made over a rigid element and the breathing tube and the face don’t affect to the skirt.

I have been using the legendary technisub Micromask (and later, a micromask clone) for quite some time. The Cressi Nano is very similar, but the small differences make it a better mask for me. The Silicone is much softer, I can wear it for hours without discomfort or the face marks. Also it needs mask equalization less often on deep dives. The Mask is a little bit wider than micromask, it does not press on the eye sockets laterally. The field of view is just a little bit smaller than Micromask, but not much. There is a little more distance between eyes and the lens, for me it means better vision (I wear contact lenses). And no eyelashes touching the lens. Finally, it is made Italy and it has no chemical smell to it. DeFogging was easy.

ok, the vision field is not the greatest but in the other hand it's good for frontwards focus. tear drop, shaped lens give you the ability to look under and even your equipment strapped to your bcd. it's low volume and comfortable, easy to fit and overall a good quality mask, one on the more simplistic side. good for a back up mask or even an all rounder, if you free dive or spear fish.

I was a little scared because all the masks do not fit me (face marked with wrinkles) ... but this one is the case. Certainly it "sticks" not as it should without the strap ... but once plated with the strap the water does not pass. The only "fault" beware if you have alar cartilages (side) wide and marked ... by plating the framework supports it (which can be a bit unpleasant) but this could not be otherwise, given that the glass is ready eyes and it's a model with frame (the frame that supports) can not have butter and butter money. For the rest: small volume, softness of touch, good profile and easy balancing ... In the end it is a very good compromise. So far I´ve only used this mask in the pool. It fits really well and is so comfortable I could almost forget I´m wearing it (which is great for Freediving). The volume is really low and because the lenses are so close to the eyes the field of vision is also excellent. I really like how the skirt blends into the frame. I expect great things from this mask and look forward to trying it in the sea.
