Experience Unparalleled Warmth and Comfort on Every Dive

Don´t let the cold dictate your dive time. The MARES XR Active Heating Vest is the ultimate solution for divers who refuse to compromise on comfort and performance in challenging water temperatures. Designed as a high-performance undergarment, this vest revolutionizes your cold-water diving experience by delivering consistent, controllable warmth directly to your core. Whether you´re exploring deep wrecks, navigating chilly currents, or simply want to extend your bottom time in comfort, the XR Active Heating Vest allows you to stay focused on the adventure, not the temperature.

Engineered for the demanding diver, this vest features an exceptionally lightweight and thin profile. Its streamlined design ensures it fits seamlessly under your drysuit or wetsuit without adding bulk or affecting your buoyancy and trim. You´ll enjoy complete freedom of movement, allowing you to maintain perfect form and control throughout your dive. Elevate your diving, push your limits, and rediscover the joy of exploring the underwater world, no matter how cold it gets.

Key Benefits for the Modern Diver
* Extend Your Dive Time: By actively combating heat loss, the vest allows your body to conserve energy, significantly extending your comfortable bottom time and enabling longer, more enjoyable dives.
* Enhanced Comfort and Focus: Stay warm, comfortable, and mentally sharp. The targeted heating system prevents the distracting and performance-degrading effects of cold, allowing you to focus on your dive plan, your buddy, and the incredible environment around you.
* Optimized Performance: Designed to be incredibly light and thin, the vest integrates perfectly with your existing gear. It offers maximum thermal protection with minimal impact on your buoyancy or freedom of movement.
* Versatile Application: An essential piece of equipment for technical divers, underwater photographers, and recreational divers exploring cooler waters. It provides the thermal edge you need to perform at your best.

Advanced Features
* Targeted Heating Zones: Strategically placed heating elements provide warmth directly to the critical core areas of your upper body. Heat is delivered to the back kidney area and to each side of the chest, creating a feeling of complete and enveloping warmth.
* Adjustable Temperature Control: Take command of your microclimate with an intuitive, user-friendly temperature control system. Easily adjust the heat settings to match changing conditions and your personal comfort level throughout the dive.
* Engineered for Diver Convenience: A smart double-zip design provides superior comfort, especially when seated on a boat or during surface intervals.
* Long-Lasting Performance: Delivers between 2 and 5 hours of continuous heating, depending on the selected power setting, ensuring you stay warm even on the most demanding dives.

What our customers are saying about Mares XR Active Heating vest

This comfortable heated vest provides excellent, even warmth, making it a great alternative to a thick undersuit for scuba diving in cold water. Made with high-quality materials, it fits well under a drysuit and offers a long battery life. The heat settings are effective for staying warm. A noted design flaw is the power button, which can be accidentally pressed as it lacks a lock feature. Overall, it´s a super warm and comfortable vest for diving

comfortable cardigan, fits well under my underwear. Warmth can be felt in the places where it is needed. The only downside is the switch that cannot be locked. I solved this by sticking a rubber washer around it

I understand that once you have finished the dive or in case of having to get out of the water due to symptoms associated with excess cold, the vest fulfills the function of restoring the comfort temperature. It is for which I have acquired the vest since the school of which I am a part dives in the Islas Atlanticas National Park and its waters are usually colder than in the rest of the dive sites.

Do a good job

Comfortable vest that warms evenly and nicely. Good fit and quality. Minus that the battery can be turned off if you access the button, which should have been a lock. Also keep in mind that you will have the battery inside the dry suit without the possibility of turning it off during diving

The Mares xr Active Heating Vest is very warm. The heat settings are just right. Comfortable and the pockets are useful. I have not tried wearing it under my drysuit for diving yet but I am confident that it will keep me nice warm for scuba diving.

Jorge Pablo Termis

Hello, I see many references to using the Mares XR active heating vest with dry suits but none to wet suits and it makes me doubt. Is it designed to be used with wet suits? My suit is a 7mm wet suit. Size 4, so should I buy a size L vest? I prefer to make sure before buying it to avoid returns. Thank you and best regards.

Answer of TradeInn Expert

The Mares XR heating vest is not suitable for a wet suit.

Good morning. Is it possible to connect a standard auxiliary battery to the XR vest (on USB socket?).

Answer of Kees

do not think so. Standard USB is 5 Volts. Battery Mares requires 8.4 volts to charge. Battery itself is 7.4 Volt

Answer of Folkert

No. The connection is not equipped with USB but with a Mares proprietary plug

Answer of Sven

Hello, the battery has a small jack plug, not a USB socket, so no.

Didier

Hello, for the Mares xr heated vest Gilet XR Active Heating, are the battery and charger included? THANKS

Answer of TradeInn Expert

In my case the battery pack and charger were included

Answer of Paul

Hi there. Yes the battery and charger are included. A word of caution though before you purchase. The on/off switch is very prone to switching itself off. This can be overcome by taping a button over the switch....front side to the switch...thus putting a "cover" over it. Also, from a diving perspective, the heat you get from it isn't great and if you are wearing it under a dry suit and the latter leaks, then you're done for as the battery isn't waterproof. I just now use mine for boat handling and wear a second hand Santi for diving. No comparison between the two tbh.

Answer of Folkert

Yes, Li-ion battery and charger are included

Answer of HEIDERSCHEID

Perfect, everything is included in the price, heats well, perfect little thickness.

Erica

Good morning, if the jacket is worn under the dry suit, how do you regulate the temperature since you cannot open the suit?

Answer of Kees

This is only possible by setting the temperature in advance. you can choose from 4 settings. In the warmest setting, the vest heats for about 90 minutes. Heating starts immediately after switching on, so before you have completely put on your drysuit and the dive can begin. In practice no problem. the vest works well. You cool down less, but you don´t really get a very nice warm feeling. you don´t get cold, but you don´t get hot either.

Answer of david

You usually adjust your temperature in advance to medium (3 choices) if it is really cold on the highest setting. Please note that you should always wear a T-shirt as an underlayer first. Works great for that price.

Answer of Folkert

You can preset the temperature on the battery pack in four steps. You do that before the dive.

Normally, you can see by the difference in price... check other sites on internet, the lower prices do not include battery. I paid around 170 (VAT inc) with battery. Hope this helps.

Can you recharge the battery with a power bank?

Answer of Ghislain

Not with the hardware provided. With the jacket comes a battery and a mains socket with a round tip.

Answer of Carole

No, if only charges with a 3 pin plug

Answer of Folkert

No. The battery is charged with a dedicated Mares charger. It does not have a USB connection and a different voltage than a power bank
