Features of SEAC i50

Product description of SEAC i50 torch

Description summary

I50 TORCH The new I50 torch is at the top of the market and is a concentrate of technology resulting from years of study by SEAC?s technical department.

The main new features introduced on this model are a new button which is the heart of the torch.

It switches the torch on, adjusts the intensity between maximum power, reduced power and strobe function for emergency situations or where we need to be noticed.

It acts as an electronic safety device to prevent unwanted ignitions by repeated pressing in rapid succession and by means of the luminous crown it provides the battery charge status at a glance:Duration in minutes of the colored indication of the button LED:The torch at maximum power lasts about one hour, the button LED lasts about 20 minutes in green, about 15 minutes in orange and about 25 minutes in flashing redThe torch is equipped with an external magnetic recharger that allows the battery to be recharged via USB cable, without the need to disassemble it.

All this is enclosed in an aerospace-derived aluminium casing with incredible strength and lightness, surface-treated to make it impervious to external agents.

Obviously, to make this torch truly universal, the angle of focus is adjustable and can switch from a concentrated spot for a defined and deep beam to a wide spot to illuminate everything around you.

Finally, the torch comes in a handy soft, contoured case covered on the outside with an abrasion-resistant fabric.

Ideal buyer profiles

General buyers seeking a high-performance dive torch

This buyer is looking for a reliable and powerful underwater lighting solution for diving or other water sports. They prioritize brightness, durability, and safety features in their equipment to enhance their underwater experience, whether for exploration, photography, or safety.

The Seac I50 Torch meets these needs with its powerful 800-2600 lumen output and adjustable focus, providing excellent underwater visibility. Its construction from aerospace-derived aluminium ensures durability and abrasion resistance. Key features like a rechargeable battery, a battery charge indicator, and a strobe function for emergencies offer the reliability and safety this buyer requires for their underwater activities.

Competitive features

When evaluating the Seac I50 Torch, it's important to recognize its specific role as a high-performance dive light. Unlike the compared products, which are primarily dive computers or regulator sets, the I50 is dedicated to underwater illumination. It stands apart with its adjustable brightness, safety features, and convenient charging, making it a specialized tool rather than a direct alternative to the dive computers and regulators listed.

Where it excels

Features adjustable light intensity with maximum power, reduced power, and an emergency strobe function, controlled by a single button. Offers modern convenience with an external magnetic recharger, allowing for USB charging without disassembling the torch. Includes a built-in battery charge indicator within the power button, providing at-a-glance status updates to the user. An electronic safety device is integrated to prevent accidental activation, enhancing safety during transport and storage.

Consider alternatives if...

If your primary need is for dive data management, such as tracking depth, time, and gas mixes, a dedicated dive computer like the Scubapro Luna 2.0 or Oceanic Veo 4.0 would be the appropriate choice. For those seeking a complete breathing apparatus for technical or stage diving, a regulator set like the Dive Rite Ft1/xt2 is necessary, as the I50 torch does not serve this function.

Verdict

The Seac I50 Torch is a technologically advanced and feature-rich dive light designed for divers who need reliable, powerful, and adaptable underwater illumination. Its adjustable modes, external USB charging, and built-in safety features make it a strong choice in its category. However, it is a specialized piece of equipment and does not replace the essential functions of a dive computer or regulator set.
