I ordered the jacket shortly before my vacation as a light travel jacket. It was delivered quickly and was well packaged. Unfortunately, during the first functional check, all fasteners and buckles had to be re-looped because they had been placed the wrong way round from the factory. The pressure and leak test as well as the test of the inflator unit were flawless. So off I went on vacation with it. After the first dive, I was very pleasantly surprised - I could hardly feel any weight on my back, with both 12 and 15 liter bottles. The buoyancy behavior was very delicate - but extremely pleasant. The upper, middle position of the inflator connection is a positive. This allows for extremely sensitive buoyancy. I removed the crotch strap after the first dive - an additional buckle would have been desirable here. Unfortunately, there is one small weak point that I don't want to forget to mention because this can have serious consequences under certain circumstances. The lower drain valve tends to jam in the OPEN position and no longer closes. This means that buoyancy control is no longer possible. The error was reproducible, once even shortly before jumping from the boat - the valve line was much too long and could get caught in the harness of the jacket.The only way to remedy the problem was to remove the valve and reinstall it. I then removed the lower valve from its line and put it out of service. Now it functions purely as a pressure relief valve. The silicone sealing disc of the lower valve is only inserted and slightly clamped - this is why it leaks and tilts in position, as it can easily slip out of the holder. Perhaps SEAC can improve this, because overall this is an excellent, minimal wing that you can really relax and have fun with on vacation.

Ich hatte mir das Jacket kurz vor meinem Urlaub als leichtes Reisejacket bestellt. Die Lieferung erfolgt schnell und gut verpackt. Bei der ersten Funktionskontrolle mussten leider alle Verschlüsse und Schnallen neu eingeschlauft werden da diese von Werk aus verkehrt gelegt waren. Der Druck- und Dichtigkeitstest sowie der Test der Infaltoreinheit war einwandfrei. Also ab damit in den Urlaub. Nach dem ersten Tauchgang war ich sehr angenehm überrascht - fast kein Gewicht auf dem Rücken spürbar, sowohl mit 12 als auch mit 15 Liter Flaschen. Das Tarierverhalten war sehr filigran - aber extrem angenehm. Positiv ist die obere, mittlere Position des Inflatoranschusses. Somit kann extrem feinfühlig tariert werden. Den Schrittgurt habe ich nach dem ersten Tauchgang entfernt - hier wäre ein zusätzliches Steckschloss wünschenswert. Leider gibt es einen kleinen Schwachpunkt, den ich nicht vergessen möchte zu erwähnen da dieser unter Umständen mit bösen Folgen enden kann. Das untere Ablassventiel neigt dazu in Stellung AUF zu verkanten und nicht mehr zu schließen. Somit ist eine Tarierung nicht mehr möglich. Der Fehler war reproduzierbar, einmal sogar kurz vor dem Sprung vom Boot - die Ventilleine war viel zu lang und kann sich in der Begurtung des Jackets verhängen. Abhilfe war nur möglich durch Ausbau des Ventils und neu Einsetzen. Daraufhin habe ich das untere Ventil seiner Leine beraubt und dieses ausser Betrieb genommen. Jetzt fungiert es als reines Überdruckventil. Die Silikondichtscheibe des unteren Ventils ist nur eingelegt und leicht geklemmt - daher kommt auch die Undichtigkeit bzw. das Verkanten in Stellung auf, da diese gerne einmal aus der Halterung rutschen kann. Vielleicht kann SEAC hier noch nachbessern, denn im Großen und Ganzen ist das ein hervorragend minimales Wing mit dem man im Urlaub richtig entspannt Spaß haben kann.

I did not need to buy an aluminium back plate, the canvas / plastic with the metal bar was plenty stiff enough for me with a 15 litre tank. I did think of getting a metal back plate but after using this BCD for over 50 dives I realise I don't need to. I did add trim pockets to the top tank strap which were very useful. I also added weight pockets to the waist belt so that I didn't need a weight belt. having ,the trim pockets and the weight pockets attached to the BCD also meant that I didn't need a crotch strap that many wing type BCD's require. There is a dump valve on the bottom but not on the top and the inflation hose is centrally located. I would have liked a shoulder dump valve and thought of getting one but it would introduce a stress point. Over all this is the best BCD I have used so far.
