After having ,,,,taken with me several of the brand's models such as the Polar Grit X, for my most intense days and specifically for outdoor training such as running; I have incorporated Ignite 3, a new model that has shown me in my day to day life how comfortable and versatile it can be.
It is a watch that is more oriented towards fitness and wellbeing, and which has been designed to "help people understand their body's natural rhythm" so that they can make better use of the day and night. As you can already guess, sleep and recovery are two of the most important aspects of this smartwatch, especially for the performance of a high-level athlete.
The multiple functionalities can be a very good training companion for those who like to be active in the gym combined with running, which is the main use I make of it in my day-to-day life. Apart from its attractive design with its high-resolution "amoled" touch screen, which offers a very clear view with the possibility of adjusting the brightness, it also contains a curved lens that guarantees maximum resistance to shocks and scratches without sacrificing the tactile sensitivity ideal for an all-terrain athlete.
On the inside, Polar Ignite 3 surprises me even more. On the home screen you can customise a selection of widgets that provide quick access to the information you want. This new GPS watch offers powerful training features, personalised guides, sleep and activity tracking and more. One of the new features of the Ignite 3 is the "SleepWise" function, where I have been able to see what impact my recorded sleep during the night has on the day ahead of me. I find it very useful to have this information to know my body's alertness levels; at what time of the day my body is most ready for maximum concentration, for an intense workout, for a short break or for bedtime at the end of the day. Another feature that I find that stands out and that I've been using the most, is that it features real-time "Voice Guidance".
During my workouts, especially running and swimming, I have been able to receive real time feedback: pace, distance, laps, HR zone changes, workout summary, etc. The day has 24 hours for everyone, but everyone's pace is different. That is why it is important to listen to our body and our rhythms in order to perform better and lead a healthier and more balanced life. We could say that Ignite 3 manages to find that balance, through its personalised guides that adapt to each person.
Another good thing about Ignite 3 is that it weighs only 35 grams. It is extraordinarily light, very comfortable to wear both day and night. The battery is long-lasting, up to 5 days on a single charge with 24/7 activity and heart rate recording activated. When it comes to training, the battery life is approximately up to 30 hours with HR and GPS recording at maximum accuracy. And with the energy saving mode, it can reach up to 100 hours of autonomy.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, this is a watch with GPS functions dedicated to fitness and wellness, but it can perfectly serve as a daily training companion. So a watch in a different range, to wear with style all day, which also provides the necessary for multiple sports activities such as running, swimming, indoor activities and also provides interesting metrics that can help us to improve our quality of life.
