This is an excellent backpack. A few years ago, I had the same model, and it truly offers a magical weight distribution, shifting the load from your back to your legs. I was pleasantly surprised that when I ordered it again, I received the updated version: the rain cover has been moved from the top flap to the lower part of the backpack, under the section where you keep your sleeping bag. They also added two side zippers that allow quick access to the inside of the backpack from the sides without having ,to open the top. I ordered the blue color, and in reality, it’s somewhere between the blue shown in the picture and green, more like a teal shade. I am very happy with the color as well. I highly recommend this backpack to everyone!

Fantastic backpack. I have a 40L Gregory, but I needed something bigger. At first, I was hesitant, as the Gregory's strap system is fantastic, but this backpack's is second to none. It literally hugs you and transfers almost all the weight to your hips, making carrying very comfortable. It also has a multitude of pockets, several straps to tighten the load so it doesn't move at all, high-quality materials, and a fantastic fit. This is a highly recommended backpack for multi-day treks.

I've had many many rucksacks over the years and they've all been ok. But when it comes down to being comfortable whilst carrying weight this rucksack excells.. it kind of hugs you like others packs don't. It is very expensive but I won't be buying another pack as this is the best I've had .

This backpack is amazing, it just have to be well adjusted to your needs. I have used it on Highlander Croatia packed with everything i need for multiday hiking tour. Fully packed with equipment, food and water weight was close to 20 kg, but it did not felt like that. Very comfortable, construction just gives you a feel that backpack is wrapped around you.

I had a deuter 65+10 backpack that was 20 years old, very solid but heavy and the carrying was good but rustic this year it gave up the ghost. Every year I do a big hike of 10 to 15 days in total autonomy except water on long courses (gr20/gr7/gr5/grand canyon/HRP etc etc) all in full. I have never managed to have a bag below 25kg, closer to 30 than 25 besides, I I don't know how others manage to have bags around 15kg. In short, I went to this 65l bag, I hope I have enough anyway I will do with it. the big difference in 20 years is the weight and carrying what a revolution! I immediately felt the difference I felt good back issue immediately. To do with the weight. Otherwise I am happy with my purchase beautiful product

I definitely recommend it. I would have loved if it had some mechanism to carry poles and ice ax, so far I have managed to carry them somehow. It also has a H2o system and has slats to take the sleeping bag and camping house outside.

I've bought this backpack to change my old and cheap one. Chosen this one by reading lot of reviews. Now I see it is the best! It has a lot of adjustments and fits perfectly. I tried first by putting in my filled bag inside and it seemed that whole weight become significantly lighter. The backpack perfectly distributing the weight on the back. It feels like there is nothing in it. The same time, my back is now perfectly ventilated, no more overheat. And a note: the backpack has two vertical zippers on the sides to reach the inside of the main volume. Despite many reviews said it doesn't have.

The suspension on this pack is amazing, I hardly noticed it's there, there were no sore spots even after several days of hiking with ~12kg total load. The various compartments offer a lot of packing versatility and save time and frustration. This is my 4th backpack after 2 Gregory and one Tatonka, by far it's the best pack I've owned.

What an awesome pack. Used to have the old model, traded it for some ultralight options, but never got used to them. Now I'm back on the Atmos and what a night and day difference. Of course, it weighs 1 kilo more than my last pack, but the comfort on my back makes up for it. Well done Osprey, improved what was already a top product.

To be honest, I am of a similar height although I am well built. The backpack size L/XL is fine for me but I sort of fit into the lower limit of that size. If I took S/M it would be fine for me too, maybe even perfect. That´s why I think you should take the S/M. You won´t regret it. You will be able to adjust the shoulder straps/belt strap more closely to your height/build, while at the same time leaving some space between your back and the backpack itself. A larger size will hang more on your back and less on your hips.

Hi - I just bought this backpack (love it btw). I believe there are only two sizes; "S/M" and "L/XL". So "S/M" is "Small/Medium". I think the reason for this is that the chest and hip buckles, and the actual shoulder straps themselves, are adjustable. So the "S/M" backpack is sufficiently adjustable that a person of both small and medium frames could comfortably fit into it. I´m about 6ft tall, 185 lbs, and I went for the L/XL, if that helps. Happy hiking!
