GRIGRI + is an assisted braking device designed for all climbers, for both indoor and outdoor climbing. It can be used with all single ropes (optimized for 8.9 to 10.5 mm diameter ropes) and is suited for intensive use. The reduction handle offers exceptional descent control. Two usage modes to choose from, depending on need: top-rope belay or lead belay. Do you "need it"? no if you have experience belaying before Do you "Want it"? DEFINITELY AND ABSOLUTELY YES I don't know if is something I will be taking in multipitch routes as it's a bit heavy and more complex to engage and disengage from the carabiner, so to change ropes up on the wall, may be tricky, but if you are belaying down from the ground is the best companion ever. It has to modalities: for Top Rope and for lead Climbing has a anti-panic secure lock, it's so so so great and if happens that you are climbing with a less experience partner, and you want to go up and trust your life to the newbie... definitely I'll fell better to know that he is using this device

i have used the grigri+ primarily for rappelling on a single strand static rope when i am top rope soloing. it does this perfectly. the extra durability from the stainless steel wear plate will make this device last for a really long time. the safety trigger gives me confidence when having ,less experienced climbers lowering me or themselves on rappel. the grigri+ works great and is the best grigri available for my needs.
