Summit Evo is a Petzl ice ax for hikers. This tool is absolutely necessary if you are going to do alpine ascents due to its precision and efficiency.

The structure of this model is composed of a hydroformed tube that allows a comfortable grip. Additionally, it has a curved design in the handle that generates the necessary separation for vertical and icy terrain. Designed for classic mountaineering, the SUMMIT EVO ice axe is the tool of choice for all types of alpine trips. Lightweight and with a waterjet-formed tube, it offers a very comfortable grip under the head of the axe. The technical design of the curved shaft provides the necessary clearance on steep, icy terrain. The forged and well-balanced head provides very good anchoring qualities. The grip of the shaft makes it a precise and efficient ice axe.

- thin (3 mm) pick, durable and toothed at the tip, ensuring good anchoring quality in hard snow and ice

- teeth on upper part of pick strengthen the hold on the ice axe in piolet-rampe mode
- durable spike in stainless steel for very good penetration in hard snow and in piolet-canne mode
- High strength and practical aspects:
- very durable steel adze offers a comfortable support surface, and the design of the edges allows stairs to be carved efficiently

I am delighted with this axe. I bought it having ,borrowed one from a friend last year. It is very light and fits in the hand very comfortably. Delivery took slightly longer than expected, but it was still good service and the best price I could find in the shops and online.

Possibly the most versatile walking axe around at the moment and it can take on more technical terrain. Light, strong tho more expensive than the rivals, but you get what you pay for.

Extremely well designed and strong ax. Very multifunctional, I use it for easier technical mountaineering, skiing and glacier travel. Good grip on the handle and also good penetration for the ice. I use the 52cm, don't see a reason to have a longer one. You might want to consider something less technical if you are only using it for glacier walking or you are doing more technical steep routes.

Great!

I'm 6'4" so I really appreciate they have versions over 60+cm which are still lightweight! Great grip and ergonomics, really couldn't ask for more!

Both light but very technical, this ax is good in all areas and 90% of the mountain. A machine to do everything, with very good ergonomics and excellent anchorage. Trustworthy, it is a very good buy!

Hello, I need to know the correct size to choose. I need two ice axes for different people. One is 1.84 meters tall and the other is 1.74 meters tall. Is this ice axe well-suited for hiking, or do you recommend the completely straight one?

Answer of YELENA

Hello! It all depends on the technical purpose, if the slope is steep, then it will do, otherwise I would advise a straight one. I'm 1.75m tall and it is comfortable for me.

Answer of Vladimir

Hello, I'm 1.76m tall, using 59cm ice age and believing it is good enough for me. But I'm mostly using trekking poles on flat surfaces and moving to the ice axe only when there is a possibility to self arrest. Not straight form of the axe limits the usage for some technical techniques. I see no problem here but my friends prefer straight form of an ice age.

Andrea

Hi I am 187 cm tall I would like to know which size is right for me for classic ski touring. Thank you

Answer of barry

I'm also 187 and bought the 66cm. For classic touring you can use it but for me it turned out too long, I'd rather have bought the 59 in hindsight. Doesn't stick out so much
