Wanted a semi rigid winter walking/climbing boot that can take a C2 crampon. Wore boots for 24km hike straight from box - Yorkshire Dales during Storm Ciara - mud, rock, some snow, lot of up and down on all surfaces, did I mention mud, water, oh and mud. No rubs, blisters and completely dry feet - I’m amazed as I wanted to ‘provoke’ a foot problem before using them in more remote areas but absolute brilliant fit. Only caution is on wet gritstone slabs - don’t slip. Definite 5 stars and the service also 5 stars - arrived in less than a week.

Super comfy. Have done two treks in the high himalaya and they have performed very well. Absolutely no break in required, waterproofing is good, no tongue wag, no blistering. Only slight downside is the grip is not the best on wet rocks owing to the stiff sole, but thats something one can compromise on because otherwise these boots are solid.

i can’t believe i didn’t drop ,the coin the buy these boots sooner, last year i saved the money and bought the salewa alp trainer mid for the mountaineers route up mt. whitney ...a decent boot but didn’t hold up w/ crampons and the elements. so i finally bought these and haven’t stopped wearing them since i got them and i’m head over heals (literally) over these boots. stiff but yet flexible, comfortable and nearly no break in period. hit the pines for a 6 hour snowshoe trek and these performed 5stars!! fee very confident and excited to put them to the true test on my everest basecamp trek in april! just wish salewa would make them in the bright colors again!!

Very good quality / price purchase, I have only tried them once, and with snow I have been very satisfied, they have very good grip with powder snow, they are very hot and very resistant to water, a bit stiff if you want them for hiking without snow but everything and so very comfortable to be a semi-rigid boot, good protection of ankle and semi-automatic crampons are perfect.

They gave me the boas Salewa Rapace a couple of months ago, bought here in trekkinn. I use them in Central America, the Andean zone, the boots have excellent finishes, but they may be a little hot for this climate, although they have good breathability, otherwise they seem very comfortable, curiously the sole of the boot has a narrower profile than the body of it. Used it in heavy frost, and ice with patches of snow. The goretex lining was great. No problem going up snow covered hills for an overnight hike. If your doing multi day winter hiking through heavy snow, maybe get a dedicated winter boot.
