Technology:

Light And Tough:
- LT is a new concept in Daiwa engineering which has produced new sizes of reels that are smaller and tougher than ever. The entirely redesigned Digigear drive is reinforced.

Monocoque Body:
- The Monocoque Body now comes in a new, uniquely tooled symmetrical design.
- This symmetrical construction first appeared on the Certate HD 2016 and now marks a turning point in reel history, ushering a new generation of tougher reels. The drive gear is encased in a one-piece body, tougher and better sealed than ever.

Mag Sealed:
- MAGSEALED oil is a magnetic oil that uses aerospace technology to protect internal reel components and guarantee smooth rotation.
- MAGSEALED technology is based on a magnetic oil developed by NASA. This liquid joint was originally used for the internal workings of hard drives – providing dustproofing but not waterproofing. Daiwa engineers took on the challenge of creating a waterproof oil, working to control the intensity of the magnetic force. This took hundreds of trials with adjustments down to micron level! The technology has been tried and tested on the water with the world’s top specialists in each discipline, and it has produced a demonstrable gain in the smoothness of rotation.

ATD Drag:
- The ATD boasts discs which have been impregnated with a specialist grease to optimise energy yield. This exceptionally high-quality product gives more grinding power at the start and offers a more stable and progressive drag. The risk of breaking off on the fight is kept to a minimum as the ATD adjusts to every phase of the fight: working faster and more progressively on the first run but offering a firmer hold for cranking power in the middle phase. It’s this adaptive feature that gives it its Automatic name.

UTD:
- A powerful drag system boasting new, tougher discs which eliminate splutters, giving you more strength and accuracy on the fight.

Air Rotor:
- The Air Rotor stands out for its balance, toughness and sensitivity.
- The arched profile and 15% weight reduction compared to standard rotors offers optimal winding smoothness and eliminates vibration thanks to the lowered centre of gravity.

Strength Tests:
- When pressure is applied to a rotor, standard models weaken at the points indicated in yellow and red while the Air Rotor spreads the load over its entire arched structure.

Zaion:
Strong - Light - Anticorrosion:
- Some of Daiwa’s reel bodies and rotors are made from Zaion, an exclusive high-density carbon with anti-corrosion properties that’s both lighter and tougher than magnesium.
- Zaion’s engineers set out to build a material that was as tough as metal but as light as carbon. Conventional wisdom holds that an aluminium reel offers toughness while polycarbonate is needed to make a light body and rotor.
- ZAION is a fusion of these two qualities. While ordinary carbon is made of nylon 6-6 resin and carbon fibres at 20%, ZAION boasts twice the density of carbon fibres. The result is a unique material that is as strong as magnesium. A ZAION body is 25% lighter than its equivalent in magnesium and 50% lighter than aluminium!

Air Metal:
The lightness of magnesium:
- Lightness is the by-word of all reels made from this light and sensitive material, which is coated with an anti-corrosion treatment specially developed by Daiwa.

Cross Wrap:
- This technology cross wraps the line around the spool for optimised offloading on the cast. This is absolutely key to preventing tangles and linespin.

CRBB:
- High quality anticorrosion ball bearings with a lifespan 10 times greater than a standard bearing.

Air Brake System:
- This spool braking system radically improves winding performance and casting accuracy while minising the risk of spool tangles. The spool has had its weight minimised to optimise the magnetic braking system and to allow accurate pitching as well as heavier duty casts to long distance.

Double Infinite Anti-Reverse:
- A mechanical anti reverse reinforces the standard infinite reverse for heavy fishing.

Real Precision Spool:
- The spool finish has been retouched down to the micron for sensitivity and rotation 10 times smoother than the standard.

Salt Barrier:
- Clutch system protected from all contact with salt.

Spare spool:
- Some reels are supplied with a spare spool. Most are identical to the original but may come in a different material or size.
