The device has preloaded world maps, not very useful. For area maps you have to go to the Garmin site and buy the one you are interested in.

Good morning! I have an older Garmin model (Vivid 5cd) that´s only suitable for fishing/depth sounder. Question: Is the UHD2 52CV connector compatible with the older sonar? Is the UHD even a combined device (chart plotter + depth sounder)? Thanks J

The 52CV connector is 4 PIN, if the old probe´s connector is different there are adapters, from 4 to 6 or from 4 to 8. However, from personal experience, I recommend that you also replace the probe. If you buy the complete kit, it costs a few dozen euros more, but it is more suitable for the new instrument, the old probe could limit its performance. If you were to buy the new probe at a later time, it would cost you more. Regards.
