Madcat Black Close Combat Catfish Rod

Unleash the ultimate power in close-quarters combat with the MADCAT Black Close Combat Catfish Rod, a masterpiece of design and engineering specifically engineered for the dedicated vertical jigging angler. This rod is not just a tool; it´s a direct extension of the angler´s will, built to dominate the biggest and toughest catfish in the river.

The newest member of the legendary MADCAT Close Combat sequence. This upgrade of the Black Series Close Combat 180 offers an ergo dynamic shaped SeaGuide® XSS reel seat, for more sensitivity. The whole rod is lighter in weight and now the black EVA handle part is covered with shrink tube. That gives it an extra smooth feel, makes it non-slip and easy to clean. This Close Combat is ideal for vertical jigging from out of a boat or even belly boat: super sensitive, perfectly balanced and a joy to look at. Powerful enough to set the hook with sufficient force and play monster catfish hard. And when you do… the oversized, EVA Comfort butt cap helps ease the wonderful pain of catfishing!

This enhanced sensitivity is a game-changer when fishing vertically. The innovative, ergonomic SeaGuide® XSS reel seat acts as a direct line to the underwater world, transmitting the faintest nibbles, subtle bottom changes, and the slightest interest from a curious catfish directly to your fingertips. You´ll feel the lure´s action with unparalleled clarity, allowing for precise presentations and instant detection of a strike, ensuring you never miss an opportunity.

While sensitivity is paramount, raw power is king in the world of catfishing. The rod’s powerful blank provides an astonishing backbone, delivering the brute strength needed to drive large hooks home with authority and control a surging monster during an intense, boat-side battle. Despite its immense power, the rod remains remarkably lightweight and perfectly balanced, a crucial combination that reduces fatigue and allows you to fish comfortably and effectively from dawn until dusk.

Control is further enhanced by the meticulously designed handle. The primary handle section is now fully covered with a durable shrink tube, creating a superbly smooth yet incredibly non-slip surface. This ensures a firm, confident grip in all conditions, whether your hands are wet, cold, or covered in fish slime. Post-battle cleanup is effortless, allowing you to keep your gear in prime condition trip after trip. When you finally hook into the fish of a lifetime, the oversized EVA Comfort butt cap becomes your best friend. Designed to be braced against your body, it expertly distributes pressure, minimizing the strain and bruising associated with prolonged, high-intensity fights. This lets you focus on conquering the fish, not the discomfort. Whether you´re targeting colossal catfish from a boat, kayak, or the intimate confines of a belly boat, the MADCAT Black Close Combat is your definitive tool for vertical warfare.
