I bought it because the gasher grade seemed warm. It's not thin, but it's thinner than regular underwear. Compared to ski base layers, it's slightly thicker, or similar in thickness. I chose a 2XL because of my build, and the website recommended a 2XL when I tried it on, but I think an XL would fit too. It's elastic.
