-The Speeder HD Carbo fin is suitable for fitter physiques looking for the best performance. Hello, don‘t worry, the fins will be fine for you! They are not that hard….after a few dives my legs were adapted, no cramps. Now I enjoy the power of these fins, very efficient.

HD what does it stand for?

HD stands or High Density, which refers to the different layering of the carbon fibers, compared to the standard carbo speeder. Also the foot pocket of the HD is made of a slightly firmer material (65 shore vs 55 shore) which transfers energy better.

This fins kind of soft or medium or hard???

Thats a tough question, highly individual….I would consider these fins medium to medium-hard. I compared them to Leaderfins Carbon medium, about the same stiffness. C4 Carbon MB002 in 25+ feel feel much softer. At Season-Start I went to 24 m with the Carbo Speeder HD in coldwater lake, and had leg cramps on the 4th dive…..so definitely not a fin for untrained legs or beginners.

1. Are the blades of this fin carbon? 2. This fin doesn´t have a side lip, so it doesn´t hold as much water. Is there a version with a side lip? If not, can I buy a side lip separately and assemble it later? 3. Can this fin be used for freediving?

Yes, the blade is made of carbon fiber, medium stiffness and good energy return. Of course the side rails are very low, but I never noticed lateral sliding or instability. I also use the plastic speeder without rails, no problems. I assume it is because of the special fishtail shape of the blade which works well without water rails.
