Types of Racquetballs

Frontenis Balls

Racquetball is a famous sport played with a racket similar to a tennis racket and a ball. Originally, the sport of Frontenis was played with the common tennis ball, however, over the years the game evolved. The fiber covering on tennis balls was found to slow play and reduce bounce. Therefore, to speed up the game, the cloth cover was removed. Today, racquetball balls are made of rubber, which has been shown to speed up the game.

Padel balls

Padel balls come in two standard colors like tennis balls: yellow and white. Padel balls offer a bounce of 135 to 145 cm. Padel balls are smaller and have a size between 2.5 and 2.75 inches, however, the weight of the ball is the same between 2.2 and 2.2 oz. Also, the inner layer of the paddle ball is made of rubber that has a spongy nature.

Ping pong balls

Ping pong balls are sphere shaped balls made specifically for table tennis. Depending on the style of play and the surface of the table, the ping pong balls can be chosen in white or orange. Plastic is a much cheaper and more versatile material than celluloid, which is widely used in ping pong balls. Babolat, Yonex, Black Crown, Dunlop and Salming are the leading brands offering high quality balls for racket sports.

Shuttlecocks

There are two types of synthetic shuttlecocks available on the market: nylon and plastic. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, the type of shuttle you choose depends on your skill level. And as a beginner, it is best to get a synthetic shuttlecock as they last much longer. The plastic steering wheel is lightweight and durable.

Squash balls

Squash balls are generally made of rubber, specifically raw butyl rubber along with a mixture of other synthetic and natural materials mixed into the rubber. Squash balls are made of two rubber halves that snap together. Air gradually escapes from the ball throughout the game, causing the pressure inside to drop and lose bounce. Once you notice that the ball has stopped bouncing, it is time to pick up a new ball.

Tennis balls

A tennis ball is a unique piece of equipment developed for the sport of tennis. A tennis ball consists of a pressurized rubber cover and high quality fabric, usually a blend of wool mixed with 35 percent nylon. Tennis balls used in competitions and tournaments are bright yellow, however, in recreational games any color can be played.
