Black Diamond Hex 4 Wired Stopper - Essential Passive Protection

Elevate your trad rack with the iconic Black Diamond Hex 4, a cornerstone of climbing equipment for any serious mountaineer or rock climber. As a vital piece in the Friends, nuts & pitons subcategory, this wired stopper offers unparalleled security and versatility. It is the definitive solution for reliable placements in variable conditions, making it an indispensable tool for everything from single-pitch trad routes to multi-day alpine ascents. Trust in a piece of gear with a legendary reputation for performance and dependability when you´re high off the deck.

The Hex 4 is classic, simple, lightweight, and exceptionally functional protection. Black Diamond Hexes truly shine in rapidly widening or flared cracks where cams might walk out or feel insecure. Their ingenious, subtly asymmetrical cross-section, combined with flat sides and a slight end-wise taper, provides incredible versatility. This unique design offers three different placement widths when turned on their axes, and an additional orientation when placed end-wise, giving you a wide range of options from a single piece of gear. This adaptability ensures you can find a solid placement in even the most challenging and irregular rock features. Easy to rack and place in bottlenecks, Hexes come equipped with durable, galvanized steel cables designed for longevity and confident handling.

Key Features:

* Versatile Placements: The unique six-sided, tapered, and asymmetrical shape allows for a wide range of secure placements in all climbing conditions, from perfect parallel cracks to icy fissures and flared-out bottlenecks.
* Lightweight and Strong: Engineered from a high-strength, lightweight alloy and paired with swaged cables, this hex provides a fantastic strength-to-weight ratio, keeping your rack light without compromising on safety.
* Secure in Awkward Cracks: Specifically designed to excel where other protection may struggle, providing bomber placements in irregular, tapering, or widening cracks.
* Durable Construction: Features robust, swaged cables that offer exceptional durability, resist fraying, and provide a stiff yet flexible body for easy placements and removal.

Carabiners

This Hex 4 wired stopper comes pre-racked and ready to climb on a lightweight Black Diamond OvalWire carabiner. The classic oval shape is ideal for racking, as it centers the load perfectly and reduces the chance of gear shifting. The wiregate design minimizes weight, resists freezing in alpine conditions, and reduces the risk of gate flutter, ensuring smooth and reliable operation every time you clip.
