Product description of Black Diamond PearLock snap hook

Description summary

The Black Diamond PearLock snap hook is your essential workhorse for belaying and rappelling. Its updated, hot-forged design boasts a large, radiused rope-bearing surface for incredibly smooth operation, reducing friction and wear on your rope. This Type H/HMS connector features a secure screwgate sleeve that locks on the gate, preventing binding under load. Lightweight yet exceptionally strong, the PearLock ensures reliable performance for dynamic belays, Munter hitches, and as a master point carabiner, making it indispensable for any climber

Black Diamond PearLock Carabiner: The Ultimate Workhorse for Belaying and Rappelling

Elevate your climbing system with the Black Diamond PearLock snap hook, a quintessential piece of climbing equipment designed for unparalleled versatility and reliability. As a cornerstone of the carabiners subcategory, the PearLock delivers flawless performance for climbers who demand efficiency and security from their gear. Whether you´re setting up a complex anchor, managing a smooth belay, or executing a rappel, this carabiner stands as a testament to modern engineering blended with classic, time-tested functionality, making it a must-have for anyone serious about their vertical pursuits.

With an updated modern design blended seamlessly with a hot-forged utilitarian shape, the PearLock features a large rope-bearing surface, making it ultra-smooth for belaying, using a Munter hitch, or as the brake carabiner with an ATC Guide. The classic screwlock sleeve rounds the PearLock out (pun intended) to make this carabiner an ultra-versatile workhorse.

Experience a new level of smoothness in your rope management. The defining characteristic of the PearLock is its expansive and generously radiused rope-bearing surface. This critical feature significantly reduces friction, allowing for a silky-smooth feed when paying out rope and effortless control when catching a fall or rappelling. This design not only enhances the belaying experience but also contributes to the longevity of your climbing rope by minimizing wear and tear, making it the ideal choice for frequent use at the gym or the crag.

Engineered for performance without the penalty of weight, the PearLock utilizes an advanced hot-forged construction. This sophisticated manufacturing process allows for a complex, optimized shape that sheds unnecessary grams while maintaining exceptional strength and durability for any climbing scenario. Complementing its robust build is the reliable and secure screwgate sleeve. This classic locking mechanism is intuitive to operate and provides absolute peace of mind during critical moments. A key design element is that the sleeve locks on the gate itself, not the nose, which cleverly prevents it from binding up under load—a crucial detail that ensures you can always operate the carabiner smoothly, even after it´s been heavily weighted.

From its primary function as a Type H or HMS connector, perfect for dynamic belaying with a Munter hitch or your favorite belay device, to its role as a master point carabiner in complex anchors, the Black Diamond PearLock proves its value time and time again. It is more than just a carabiner; it is a foundational tool for secure, efficient, and enjoyable climbing.

Features:

– Large rope-bearing surface for smooth operation and added longevity
– Hot-Forged for lighter-weight construction
– Sleeve locks on biner´s gate (not nose) and won´t bind up when loaded
– Screwgate sleeve
– Type H or HMS connector
– For dynamic belaying using a Munter hitch or belay device
