My wife chose this backpack for its size. We used it to conquer "Concrete Jungle" New York. 20 liters is good for two water bottles, bars and sunglasses. You don't notice that you have it on your back. And there was also room to transport two sweaters rolled up in it. You could possibly equip the laptop section with a water bag with a tube. We left both at home because there was plenty of tea, coffee and other goodies available in the many food and drink establishments.
