GRIVEL Air Tech Evolution T Ice Axe: The Pinnacle of All-Round Mountaineering Performance

Discover the ultimate companion for your alpine pursuits with the GRIVEL Air Tech Evolution T ice axe. Engineered for the discerning mountaineer who demands versatility without compromise, this ice axe represents the perfect synthesis of classic design and modern innovation. Whether you´re navigating vast glacial landscapes, tackling technical mixed routes, or embarking on a challenging ski touring expedition, the Air Tech Evolution T is built to excel in every mountain environment, establishing itself as a true icon in the world of hiking and mountaineering equipment.

An ice axe capable of providing a truly excellent performance. The steel blade hot-forged in one-piece makes it light, balanced and solid. The G-bone handle with lateral grooves allows greater resistance with a lower thickness. It guarantees an excellent ergonomic grip along the entire shaft. You can have it simple, with the innovative Easy Slider or with an adjustable leash. Ideal companion for all types of mountaineering.

The heart of the Air Tech Evolution T is its single-piece, hot-forged steel head. This meticulous manufacturing process creates a pick and adze with no welds or weaknesses, delivering unparalleled strength, durability, and a confident swing. The aggressive design of the pick ensures a secure and reliable placement in hard ice and frozen snow, while the adze is shaped for maximum efficiency when cutting steps or clearing a belay stance. The entire head is balanced to perfection, providing an intuitive feel that inspires confidence with every move.

The shaft´s design is a masterclass in functional engineering. Its gentle, elegant curve just below the head provides essential clearance on steeper terrain and bulges of ice, preventing knuckle-bashing without compromising its performance as a walking and support tool. This "Evolution" curve allows the shaft to remain straight enough for effective plunging into soft snow, making it a reliable anchor and self-arrest tool. The lower section of the shaft features a robust rubber grip for enhanced handling and insulation when holding it by the base on technical sections.

Certified as a Type 2 (T) axe, the Air Tech Evolution T is rated for the most demanding applications, including building complex anchors and providing security in technical terrain. This certification is a testament to its robust construction and reliability when it matters most. This is not just a walking axe; it is a fully-featured technical tool ready for the challenges of classical and technical mountaineering.
