Grivel Alpine Plume Captive quickdraw

GRIVEL Alpine Plume Captive Quickdraw

Elevate your alpine and trad climbing experience with the GRIVEL Alpine Plume Captive Quickdraw, the definitive choice for climbers who demand minimal weight without compromising on performance or safety. Engineered for the most challenging mountain environments, this is a very light quickdraw for alpine climbing, meticulously designed to reduce the burden on your harness and in your pack, allowing you to move faster, climb longer, and push your limits further. When every gram is critical, the Alpine Plume Captive delivers unparalleled lightness and reliability.

At the heart of this exceptional quickdraw are the innovative Plume and Plume Captive carabiners. The top Plume carabiner features a classic wire gate design, a crucial feature for alpine and ice climbing. Wire gates are inherently lighter and significantly less prone to freezing shut in cold, icy conditions, ensuring they remain functional when you need them most. They also reduce the risk of gate flutter on long pitches, providing consistent security.

The rope-end of the draw is equipped with the Plume Captive carabiner, which incorporates a revolutionary captive bar. This ingenious feature prevents the carabiner from rotating on the sling, keeping it perfectly oriented for quick, easy, and secure rope clipping. This not only enhances safety by ensuring the load is always applied along the carabiner´s major axis but also eliminates frustrating fumbling, saving you precious energy and time on strenuous leads.

Connecting these two featherlight carabiners is a robust, narrow, and incredibly lightweight Dyneema sling. Renowned for its extraordinary strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to abrasion and UV degradation, the Dyneema sling provides a secure and durable link that packs down compactly on your harness. Its minimalist profile helps to keep your rack organized and streamlined.

Weighing an astonishing 69 grams, the Alpine Plume Captive is a game-changer for your rack. Whether you are building a fast-and-light setup for a multi-day alpine ascent, trimming weight for a demanding trad route, or preparing for a high-altitude mountaineering expedition, the weight savings are substantial and immediately noticeable. This quickdraw is the ideal solution for the discerning alpinist and traditional climber who understands that efficiency in movement begins with efficiency in gear.
