GRIVEL Wide K18N Screw-Gate Carabiner: Unmatched Reliability for Climbing and Mountaineering

Discover the cornerstone of any serious climber´s rack: the GRIVEL Wide K18N Screw-Gate Carabiner. Engineered for those who demand uncompromising safety, performance, and versatility in vertical environments, the K18N stands as a testament to Grivel´s legacy of producing elite-level climbing equipment. This is more than just a connector; it´s a piece of gear you can trust with absolute confidence, whether you´re setting up a belay station on a multi-pitch route, rappelling from a summit, or navigating a challenging alpine ridge.

Designed with functionality at its core, the Wide K18N is a large carabiner, easy to manipulate even with big gloves. This oversized profile is a significant advantage in cold weather or high-altitude conditions where dexterity is compromised, allowing for smooth and secure clipping and handling without fumbling. Its generous size provides an ample working area, making complex rope tasks simpler and safer.

At the heart of its performance, the Wide K18N features a screw-gate closure and it is made of 7075 aluminum to offer the best ratio between weight, strength and durability. The classic, reliable screw-gate mechanism provides a secure lock that you can visually confirm, giving you peace of mind on every climb. The use of high-strength 7075 aluminum alloy ensures that this carabiner can withstand incredible forces while remaining surprisingly light, helping to reduce the overall weight of your rack on long ascents.

Its shape is ideal for rope manoeuvers, climbing and mountaineering. The classic HMS (pear) shape is purpose-built to work seamlessly with belay devices and Munter hitches, allowing the rope to run smoothly and reducing the risk of jamming. This makes the K18N a true workhorse, perfectly suited for belaying, rappelling, and constructing anchors, consolidating the function of multiple carabiners into one robust and reliable tool.

Grivel’s commitment to safety is unparalleled. Every single K18N carabiner is individually tested, with the date of testing and progressive number laser-marked on it. This meticulous quality control process guarantees that the carabiner in your hand meets and exceeds the most stringent safety standards, providing full traceability and an undeniable assurance of its integrity.
