I used to walk in the highlands wearing a POC category 4 mask, it was very inconvenient, it’s great to move along the glacier, but as soon as clouds come out, or you go out onto a stone scree, it’s dark, the distance to the surface is not believably displayed. Therefore, I bought photochromic Shield as soon as they appeared. It's just a delight! They are very light, on the face you do not feel at all. The image is simply unrealistic, even better than it actually is)) With curtains, the glass still fogs up in frost around -10-15C. In a strong wind, they are blown off the face, so it’s better to immediately buy a silicone holder, for example, from Costa, because. The one that comes with it is useless.It is impossible to put it on in the cold, you have to ask someone to help, and even another person finds it hard to put it on. At the same time, the lace in the kit is very short, if you need to take off your glasses while in winter clothes, this is simply impossible. Also, the semi-hard case that comes with the kit is useful only in the city, it does not protect the glasses at all. In the cold, the shackle cracked in the place where the screw was attached, when the glasses were in the top flap of the backpack. No one sat on the backpack, I didn’t throw it, I can’t explain why it happened, but it was very unpleasant to be left without glasses on the glacier. I was pleasantly surprised considering the cost of the glasses. Julbo Sherpa is already 6 years old, and now they are simply unkillable.At the moment, I turned to Julbo about replacing the bow under warranty. I have not been wearing these glasses above 4000 yet, so I can’t say how they will behave, whether they will really give out the 4th category. On the one hand, it is very comfortable that they change the darkness, but on the other hand, there is a mistrust that with strong UV they will not be dark enough, and I will most likely take an additional mask with me. Despite all the shortcomings that I have described, these glasses are really a breakthrough in image quality, and I have no desire to change them.

I use them for running and hiking. The fit is spectacular, very clear vision, it protects 360 very well and even adjusting perfectly they do not fog up. Very very light.

Polarized lenses???

Hello, It is not clear if the glasses are polarized? What type of glass is present on the JULBO Shield Photochromic Sunglasses Transluscent Black / Neon Orange version? According to the other answers, it seems that on the Brown version these are High Mountain lenses therefore polarized but on the Black version? Thank you very much for your answer, Laurent

Yes they are, the high mountain model has polarized lenses. Apsolutely would recomend them for mountanering and any oudoor acivity with bright sun.
