Mammut Sender Screwgate snap hook

MAMMUT Sender Screwgate Carabiner

When every gram counts, the Sender Screwgate carabiner is the right choice for climbers who demand performance. This exceptionally engineered piece of climbing equipment is designed for alpinists and climbers who understand that lightweight gear translates to higher efficiency and greater success on the mountain. The Sender Screwgate embodies the perfect balance between minimal weight, compact design, and uncompromising safety, making it a vital addition to any serious rack.

This extra-lightweight and compact carabiner features a ‘D´ shape for easy handling. The ergonomic D-shape is a time-tested design that not only fits comfortably in your hand, even when wearing gloves, but also ensures the load is optimally aligned along the spine—the carabiner´s strongest axis. This intelligent design maximizes its strength-to-weight ratio, giving you full confidence in its performance during critical moments, whether you are building a belay anchor, rappelling, or securing yourself to a station. Its compact profile means it takes up less space on your harness, leaving more room for the rest of your essential gear.

The key lock nose prevents any snagging when clipping and unclipping. This crucial feature creates a smooth, clean interface between the carabiner´s nose and gate, eliminating the frustrating "hook" that can catch on ropes, harness loops, and webbing slings. This snag-free functionality ensures fluid and fast operations, saving you valuable time and energy, especially in strenuous situations or when you need to make quick transitions on a multi-pitch route.

The orange marking is an additional safety feature, acting as a warning if the carabiner is not screwed closed. Safety is non-negotiable in climbing, and this visual indicator provides a simple yet highly effective security check. A quick glance is all it takes for you or your partner to confirm that the gate is securely locked. This bright orange warning adds an essential layer of redundancy to your safety system, promoting better habits and providing peace of mind.

In icy or dirty environments, a screw-locking carabiner is better choice in comparison to a twist-lock version. The Sender Screwgate is built to perform reliably in the most challenging mountain conditions. Its simple, robust screw-gate mechanism is less susceptible to freezing up or getting jammed with dirt and grit compared to more complex auto-locking systems. This makes it the superior choice for ice climbing, winter mountaineering, and expeditions where gear failure is not an option.

The MAMMUT Sender Screwgate is more than just a carabiner; it´s a precision tool for vertical adventures. Its thoughtful combination of a featherlight build, superior handling, and robust safety elements makes it an indispensable component for climbers pushing their limits.
