The Taiss Guide softshell pants offer our collection’s most rugged weather protection. Developed for mountaineering and ski touring. The rugged 3-layer membrane fabric is completely windproof and, thanks to its PFC-free waterproofing, offers dependable protection even in the harshest conditions. After demanding sections, open the hip-level ventilation zippers. The elastic Velcro closures on the waist and leg seams with elastic gusset and zipper let you adjust the pants for a perfect fit. The Taiss Guide is lightweight and has many other features, such as zippered climbing harness-compatible pockets and reinforced leg hems to protect against scuffing from ski edges and crampons. Wear these pants and you’re sure to enjoy days in the mountains even when the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Durability:
- For your garment to last you a long time despite plenty of abrasion or rock contact, it has to be hard-wearing. Do you weigh every gram and define absolute freedom of movement as the most important characteristic? Then less abrasion-resistant, lighter clothing can be an advantage.

Windproofing:
- Windproof clothing keeps you from getting cold on breezy peaks or blustery trails and minimizes the wind chill effect, which is your body´s heat loss accelerated by wind. Pay special attention to this factor when your pace is high and conditions are cool and windy.

Packability:
- On multi-day adventures or other activities with a lot of equipment, space in the backpack is at a premium. Similarly, for those aiming to travel fast and light, packability is essential. This factor may be less relevant if protection and durability are the top priorities.

Lightweight:

Breathability:
- Especially for fast-paced activities, you need breathable clothing that regulates your body temperature, wicks away sweat, allows air to pass through, and so keeps you comfortable.

Warmth:
- Down, synthetic fibers, wool - they are all tasked with storing heat and protecting against cold. The warming layer can vary in weight, breathability and packability. Exactly how warm depends on the intensity of the sport, the outside temperature and the space in your pack.

- Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are often used for waterproofing but are practically non-biodegradable. Mammut is committed to replacing non-biodegradable fabric treatments with more sustainable high-performance alternatives.

- Do not dry clean or use solvents to remove stains
- Max. ironing temperature (110° C) Take care when steam ironing
- Gentle iron the garment (warm, without steam) with cloth in between to reactivate the DWR treatment
- Tumble dry gentle
- Machine wash on gentle cycle (max. 30º C)
