Mammut Taiss HS jacket

Our most technical children’s jacket for adventuring through raindrops and conquering hilltops. Part of our durable Taiss line, this breathable, 3-layer hardshell provides waterproof, windproof protection for family mountain adventures or playing closer to home. The outer fabric features ripstop optic for added protection against scrapes and tears. A reflective back patch is visible from 300m away. This combines with front reflective detailing to increase visibility in low light and against oncoming traffic when cars are nearby. Two waterproof front pockets store essentials. The Taiss HS Hooded Jacket keeps young explorers dry and comfortable as they roam, play and fall in love with nature.

Durability:
- For your garment to last you a long time despite plenty of abrasion or rock contact, it has to be hard-wearing. Do you weigh every gram and define absolute freedom of movement as the most important characteristic? Then less abrasion-resistant, lighter clothing can be an advantage.

Quick drying:
- To prevent you from losing heat during a break at the summit, your clothing must wick sweat and moisture away from the skin and allow it to evaporate quickly. The more you sweat during an activity, the more important it is for it to dry quickly and have breathability.

Breathability:
- Especially for fast-paced activities, you need breathable clothing that regulates your body temperature, wicks away sweat, allows air to pass through, and so keeps you comfortable.

Packability:
- On multi-day adventures or other activities with a lot of equipment, space in the backpack is at a premium. Similarly, for those aiming to travel fast and light, packability is essential. This factor may be less relevant if protection and durability are the top priorities.

Windproofing:
- Windproof clothing keeps you from getting cold on breezy peaks or blustery trails and minimizes the wind chill effect, which is your body´s heat loss accelerated by wind. Pay special attention to this factor when your pace is high and conditions are cool and windy.

Stretchability:
- Outdoor clothing must not be constricting. It must be elastic without losing its shape and should give you maximum freedom of movement. The more flexibility your activity requires, the more important stretchy material is.
