Mammut Workhorse HMS Screwgate snap hook

MAMMUT Workhorse HMS Screwgate Carabiner: The Pinnacle of Strength and Reliability

Discover the ultimate powerhouse for your climbing rack with the MAMMUT Workhorse HMS Screwgate carabiner. Engineered for climbers and mountaineers who demand uncompromising strength and durability, this carabiner stands as a testament to superior design and performance. When your safety system relies on a single, critical point, trust the equipment built to exceed expectations in the most demanding vertical environments.

The Workhorse Screwgate carabiner is the strongest MAMMUT carabiner and one of the most robust models on the market.

Its exceptional construction is immediately apparent. The oversized profile and HMS (pear-shaped) design make it the perfect companion for a wide range of applications, from belaying and rappelling with various devices to constructing complex, multi-point anchors. Its size allows user-friendly operation even when wearing gloves, a critical advantage in alpine conditions or during cold-weather climbing sessions where dexterity is limited. Say goodbye to fumbling with your gear and hello to smooth, efficient handling when it matters most.

The opening width and volumes are large enough to accommodate several ropes, slings and knots. This generous internal space helps to keep your anchor points organized and reduces clutter, allowing for easier management of your safety system. It is ideal for use as a central carabiner for anchoring as it is particularly robust and durable. This makes it the cornerstone of your belay station, providing a secure and reliable master point for any multi-pitch climb or complex rigging scenario.

Reliability extends to every feature of the Workhorse. The screw locking is easy to operate even in icy or dirty environments, ensuring you can secure the gate with confidence, regardless of the conditions. This dependable mechanism resists freezing and jamming, providing peace of mind on high-stakes routes.

To further enhance its usability, the key lock nose allows easier clipping and unclipping without snagging. This clean, no-hook nose design ensures the carabiner glides effortlessly over ropes, webbing slings, and harness gear loops, preventing frustrating snags during critical moments.

Safety is paramount, and MAMMUT has integrated a simple yet highly effective visual check. An orange marking indicates when the carabiner is not closed. This small detail provides an instant visual confirmation that your gate is securely locked, allowing you to double-check your system at a glance before committing to a move. Built for the modern adventurer, the Workhorse HMS is your indispensable partner for pushing your limits safely.
