As usual with merrell trecking shoes, these were true to size and fitted straight out of the box, they felt comfortable and I had no issues on a three mile walk along the coast on first outing. They look a bit like trainers but are weightier and feel well constructed. I have just finished with a pair of Merrell Moab gortex shoes, getting a bit thin on the soles and a bit of fraying on the inner heels - they still have a bit of life in them so not bad after 2.5 years of daily use. Lets hope these Adventure III's do as well.
