Petzl Freelock pole strap

PETZL FREELOCK Leash | Adjustable Ice Axe Strap for Technical Mountaineering

Elevate your performance and security on the most demanding alpine routes with the PETZL FREELOCK, an innovative leash system engineered for the modern mountaineer and ice climber. This essential accessory provides an unparalleled combination of freedom, security, and rapid adjustability, ensuring your ice axe remains tethered without ever hindering your movement. Designed for technical ascents where every second and every gram counts, the FREELOCK leash redefines what´s possible in the mountains.

The lightweight and comfortable FREELOCK is designed with technical alpine climbing in mind. The leash is tightened and loosened with a simple turn of the wrist. This intuitive mechanism allows for instant, on-the-fly adjustments, giving you the freedom to move your hands up and down the shaft of your ice axe, swap hands, or place ice screws without fumbling with complex buckles or clips in cold conditions.

Key Benefits:

* Unmatched Freedom of Movement: The generous adjustment range and smooth-gliding design ensure your arm movements are never restricted. Whether you´re swinging into hard ice or reaching for a high hold, the FREELOCK moves with you, providing slack when you need it and security when you don´t.
* Instant, One-Handed Adjustment: The revolutionary FREELOCK system is the heart of this leash. A simple rotation of your wrist is all it takes to tighten or loosen the strap, allowing for immediate transitions and adjustments without interrupting your climbing rhythm.
* Enhanced Safety and Efficiency: Securely tethering your ice axe prevents the critical error of dropping your tool on exposed terrain. The rapid adjustment system allows you to quickly secure the axe close to your hand for delicate maneuvers or extend the leash for full-range swings, improving your overall efficiency and safety on the route.
* Ultralight and Minimalist: Weighing a mere 40 grams, the FREELOCK adds negligible weight to your kit. Its minimalist profile ensures it won´t snag on gear or rock, aligning with the "fast and light" ethos of modern alpinism.

Advanced Straps System

The core of this product´s innovation lies in its unique strap technology. The FREELOCK system utilizes a durable, low-profile webbing that glides smoothly through the adjustment mechanism. This ergonomic design is not only incredibly efficient but also comfortable to wear around your wrist, even for extended periods. The system is designed to be completely operable with one hand, even while wearing gloves, making it an indispensable tool for challenging mixed, ice, and alpine environments. The rotating connection point prevents the leash from twisting and tangling, maintaining a clean and efficient setup on your harness and tool.
