Petzl Protector Pack 10 quickdraw

PETZL STRING Quickdraw Sling Protector - Enhance Safety & Durability

Elevate the performance and longevity of your climbing gear with the PETZL STRING quickdraw sling protector. Designed for the discerning climber who demands reliability and safety from their equipment, the STRING is an essential upgrade for any quickdraw setup. This indispensable component addresses two of the most critical aspects of quickdraw performance: protecting the sling from premature wear and ensuring the rope-end carabiner remains perfectly positioned for safe, efficient clipping. By adding the STRING to your rack, you invest in peace of mind, allowing you to focus completely on your movement and the route ahead.

The primary safety benefit of the PETZL STRING is its ability to securely hold the carabiner in its correct orientation, significantly reducing the risk of dangerous cross-loading. When a carabiner flips and is loaded across its minor axis or gate, its strength is dramatically compromised. The STRING’s ergonomic shape cradles the carabiner, preventing it from rotating during use, which is especially crucial when you´re pumped and pulling up rope for a desperate clip. This stability ensures that the load is always applied along the carabiner´s major axis, where it is strongest.

Beyond safety, the STRING acts as a durable shield for your quickdraw webbing. The lower loop of the sling is subjected to constant abrasion from the rope, the carabiner, and contact with the rock. The robust TPE material of the STRING envelops this high-wear area, absorbing friction and impact to drastically extend the life of your EXPRESS and AXESS slings. This not only protects your investment but also maintains the integrity of your gear for longer, giving you confidence in your system climb after climb. Its clever design also simplifies assembly and inspection, making it easy to confirm that your quickdraw is correctly set up before you leave the ground.

Quickdraw sling protector that also maintains the orientation of the carabiners on the EXPRESS and AXESS slings

The STRING serves two functions: it maintains the orientation of the carabiner on the rope end of a quickdraw and helps protect the webbing from wear. The shape facilitates proper installation of the carabiner in the quickdraw sling. It’s compatible with the EXPRESS and AXESS slings.
