I own this as well as the Edelrid Rope Tooth. This knife is superior in cutting and design. The knives build quality is superior in that: there is less movement in parts (precision), more firm locking mechanism, lighter (slightly), nicer feel in hand, sharper and more elegant serration, MOST IMPORTANTLY the hole for a carabiner is suitable for use. The Edlerid knife is cheaper and has its place, for a backup or rare usage. However in that knife the thickness and diameter of the hole doesn't allow most carabiners to pass through in a useful way. The Petal knife works as you would expect given the usage and how it looks. Using cordage is not an issue for either knife as an attachment.
