SALEWA HMS Screw G2 Medium Carabiner - The Cornerstone of Your Climbing Rack

Discover the ultimate in reliability and versatility with the SALEWA HMS Screw G2 Medium Carabiner, an essential piece of climbing equipment for belaying, rappelling, and anchor building. Engineered for climbers who demand uncompromising safety and flawless handling, this classic HMS carabiner with a screwgate is the trusted workhorse for every vertical adventure, from the climbing gym to alpine multi-pitch routes. Its thoughtful design is a testament to SALEW´s commitment to creating gear you can stake your life on.

The primary benefit of the HMS Screw G2 lies in its exceptional versatility. The classic pear-shaped (HMS) design provides a large, wide top bar with a generous inner volume. This makes it the perfect partner for belaying with a Munter hitch, offering smooth rope flow and control. It also works seamlessly with a wide range of modern belay devices, preventing unwanted bunching and ensuring consistent performance. Whether you´re setting up a top-rope, rappelling a long pitch, or constructing a complex anchor, the ample space and optimized shape make rigging simple and efficient.

Handling and security are at the forefront of the G2´s design. The secure and time-tested screwgate locking mechanism provides a positive, reliable closure that you can trust. The gate is easy to operate, even with climbing gloves on, allowing for quick and confident clipping. A keylock nose design eliminates the frustrating snagging of ropes, slings, or harness gear loops during critical moments, ensuring a smooth and clean experience when you need it most. This carabiner feels solid and ergonomic in the hand, providing the tactile feedback that instills confidence when you´re high off the ground. For any climber, from the beginner learning the ropes to the seasoned expert building their rack for a major objective, the SALEWA HMS Screw G2 is the go-to choice for a primary locking carabiner.

I already have 4 of these in different colors and the quality and durability is very good. If you use them frequently, the color fades, especially the black of the thread, but it is only aesthetic. From time to time you have to add a drop of oil to make them go like the first day. Salewa never fails.
