SALEWA HMS Screw G2 Carabiner: Versatile and Secure Climbing Equipment

For climbers and mountaineers who demand reliability and versatility from their gear, the SALEWA HMS Screw G2 Carabiner is an indispensable addition to any rack. As an essential piece of climbing equipment, this carabiner is engineered for all-around performance, serving as a trustworthy link in your safety system whether you´re setting up a belay, rappelling down a multi-pitch route, or building a complex anchor. Its design prioritizes safety, smooth handling, and long-term durability, making it a favorite for both beginners and seasoned alpinists.

The core of its versatility lies in its classic shape. This is a classic HMS carabiner with screwgate, specifically designed with a large, pear-shaped profile. This generous internal volume provides ample space for accommodating multiple ropes, slings, or a belay device, and is perfectly suited for belaying with a Munter hitch. The wide, rounded top bar ensures a smooth rope feed and helps to dissipate heat during rappels, while also being gentle on your rope to minimize wear and tear over time. This thoughtful design ensures consistent and predictable performance when you need it most.

Handling this carabiner is a seamless experience, even in challenging conditions. The secure screwgate locking mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate, providing positive, time-tested security that you can verify with a quick visual check. Its textured barrel offers excellent grip, allowing for easy manipulation even when wearing gloves or dealing with cold hands. Furthermore, the keylock nose design prevents the carabiner from snagging on your rope, harness gear loops, or anchor slings, ensuring clean and frustration-free clipping and unclipping. This focus on fluid operation allows you to concentrate on your movement and the climb ahead.

Engineered to balance strength with a manageable weight, the HMS Screw G2 provides exceptional performance without weighing down your harness. This Small (S) version offers a more compact and lighter option, perfect for those looking to shed grams on long alpine ascents or for climbers with smaller hands, without compromising on strength or safety standards. Fully certified to meet rigorous international safety norms, this carabiner is built to be a reliable workhorse for all your vertical adventures.
