Salewa Maillon Rapide snap hook

SALEWA Maillon Rapide Snap Hook | High-Strength Steel Carabiner

When your safety depends on a single point of connection, trust the unyielding strength and reliability of the SALEWA Maillon Rapide Snap Hook. This essential piece of climbing equipment is engineered for situations where absolute security is paramount. Designed as a robust and dependable link, it serves as a cornerstone for building secure anchors, creating durable rappel stations, and handling heavy loads with complete confidence. Its formidable construction provides the peace of mind needed to focus on the climb, knowing your connections are solid.

The defining feature of this snap hook is its Maillon Rapide design, a threaded screw-gate closure that creates a secure, semi-permanent link. Unlike standard carabiners, this screw-lock mechanism is intended for connections that will remain in place for extended periods or in high-consequence scenarios. Once tightened, the gate forms a closed loop of incredible strength, minimizing the risk of accidental opening. This makes it the perfect choice for connecting chains, rigging complex systems, or as a leave-behind bail carabiner on a challenging route. The deliberate, tool-assisted closure ensures that the connection is both intentional and exceptionally secure.

Engineered for the most demanding vertical environments, this Maillon Rapide boasts a staggering longitudinal breaking load of 35 kN. This immense strength provides an unparalleled margin of safety, making it suitable for not only climbing and mountaineering but also for rescue operations, rigging, and industrial applications where high forces are expected. The impressive lateral strength of 10 kN further ensures its integrity even under less-than-ideal loading conditions. Its compact yet powerful profile allows it to fit seamlessly into complex anchor systems without adding unnecessary bulk.

Safety is non-negotiable in the vertical world. That´s why the SALEWA Maillon Rapide is rigorously tested and certified according to the EN 362 standard, classifying it as personal protective equipment (PPE) you can depend on. This certification guarantees that it has passed stringent European safety requirements for connectors used in fall arrest systems. Whether you are a seasoned alpinist, a sport climber setting up a top rope, or a rescue professional, the SALEWA Maillon Rapide is the definitive choice for a strong, durable, and trustworthy connection. Add this indispensable steel link to your rack for unparalleled peace of mind on any adventure.
