Good morning, for hiking boots with a UK 9.5-EU 44 shaft, I use 180 cm, giving the shaft a turn before tying the final knot, and the tied laces stay collected and do not hang down. Perhaps 170 cm laces would be better for your size.

First I would avoid Goretex shoes, goretex is made from PFAS and harmfull for you and the environment. Shoes gather dirt, which makes goretex lose its breathability and makes it leak, so you end up with a sweaty shoe that does not breathe but lets through water and is harmfull, so you will not use them for a long time and that is environmentally wastefull. Top side leather pieces on toes is best, or a fully leather shoe and then wax it like with snowseal. Shoes differ very much, even in the same shoe size. Length of shoelaces depend upon how wide the gap is between the shoe parts (which also depends upon the width of your feet relative to the width of the particular shoe and the use of inlay soles) and how many times the shoelace goes back and forth and if you like to use a single or double knot. I do this differently for dress shoes, city shoes and rugged mountain shoes (where some even prefer an extra turn around the shaft of the shoe before tying the knot). There really is just one way to test the right shoelace length: Wear the shoes and if you want to keep them after a few uses measure how much shorter/longer you would like to have your shoelaces compared to the current ones and then get one shoelace out of the shoe and measure it.
