Singing Rock Wizard Light ice axe

SINGING ROCK Wizard Light Ice Axe | Ultralight Performance for Ski Touring & Alpinism

Discover the ultimate tool for fast and light mountain adventures with the SINGING ROCK Wizard Light. This is our lightest ice axe, designed especially for ski touring, altitude climbing, and all adventures where every gram counts. When your objective demands minimalism without compromising on safety and performance, the Wizard Light is the essential piece of equipment you can rely on. Engineered for the discerning alpinist and ski mountaineer, it offers a perfect balance of featherlight construction and functional reliability for navigating classic alpine terrain.

The Wizard Light is expertly crafted as a lighter version of the celebrated Wizard ice axe, shedding critical weight to help you move faster and conserve energy on long ascents. Its thoughtfully designed bent shaft provides optimal clearance and an ergonomic swing, enhancing performance during self-arrest maneuvers. This curvature ensures the pick engages securely and immediately in hard snow or ice, giving you the confidence needed to traverse steep slopes and challenging glacial terrain. The robust, aggressive pick is shaped for superior penetration, providing an unwavering anchor point when you need it most. An integrated adze offers practical utility for chopping steps in firm snow, clearing ice, or digging a platform for a secure belay stance.

Every detail of the Wizard Light is geared towards efficiency and gram-conscious performance. The design intentionally omits a steel spike, a key decision to achieve its remarkable low weight, making it the ideal choice for missions where minimalism is paramount. The bottom part of the shaft is meticulously sealed to prevent snow from accumulating inside, which would otherwise add unnecessary weight and potentially freeze. For enhanced versatility and safety, this lower section is also equipped with a convenient hole for attaching a carabiner, allowing you to easily clip the axe to your harness or use it in the construction of a T-slot snow anchor. The Wizard Light is fully compatible with SINGING ROCK’s Fix and Bungee leashes, giving you flexible options for security based on your preference and the demands of the terrain. Available in two different lengths, you can select the perfect size to match your height and climbing style, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience on the mountain.
