For the price it is more than enough, waterproof and breathable. I use it as a windbreaker and for the water and no problem. It has withstood some downpours without getting soaked. I have a 3-layer Gore-Tex jacket for "heavier" things and it doesn't go much further than this one. In short, a good "jacket" for daytime activities or a few days...
