Black Cat Dead Bait leader

Black Cat Dead Bait Leader: The Ultimate Rig for Trophy Catfish

Elevate your predator fishing game with the Black Cat Dead Bait Leader, a masterfully engineered rig designed by the legendary catfish angler Stefan Seuß. As a core component of the Waller Spezial collection, this ready-made leader is your professional solution for targeting the largest and most cunning catfish in any water system. Stop guessing and start fishing with the confidence that comes from using equipment designed and trusted by the best in the sport. The Dead Bait Rig is specifically crafted to solve one of the biggest challenges in predator angling: presenting a deadbait perfectly in flowing water.

This leader is meticulously designed for an ideal presentation of deadbaits just off the bottom. In rivers and canals with current, this method is paramount, keeping your bait out of silt, debris, and snags while positioning it directly in the patrol routes and strike zones of monster catfish. The system´s genius lies in its ability to animate a lifeless bait, transforming it into an irresistible target. Affixed directly on the leader, just above where your bait will sit, is an X-Strong Winged U-Float. This is not just a float; it´s an active attractant. The current catches the wings of the U-Float, causing it to rotate and swirl enticingly. This movement creates subtle yet powerful vibrations and turbulence in the water, mimicking a distressed or wounded fish—a signal that no nearby predator can ignore.

The hooking arrangement is engineered for maximum efficiency and an unbeatable hook-up ratio. The baitfish is secured with a purpose-driven two-hook system. A front single hook is placed in the head area for a secure anchor point, while a devastatingly sharp Double Ghost Hook is positioned in the tail area. This configuration ensures your baitfish remains intact even in strong currents and guarantees a solid hook set, regardless of the angle from which the catfish attacks. Whether it’s a tentative bite or an aggressive, full-force strike, this leader is designed to connect you to the fish of a lifetime.
