Colmic Altair Surfcasting Reel

COLMIC Altair Surfcasting Reel: Precision Engineering for Ultimate Distance and Power

Dominate the surf and command the cast with the COLMIC Altair Surfcasting Reel, a masterpiece of fishing technology designed for the serious angler who demands peak performance. Engineered to conquer the challenging saltwater environment, the Altair is the definitive choice for long-distance casting, offering an unparalleled combination of lightness, rigidity, and silky-smooth operation. Whether you´re targeting elusive species from the beach or competing at the highest level, this reel provides the power and reliability you need to turn every cast into an opportunity.

The foundation of the Altair´s exceptional performance is its revolutionary body construction. Built from a Super light and ultra-rigid hybrid xts-60 composite graphite and aluminium body, this reel strikes the perfect balance between weight reduction and structural integrity. This advanced Synthetic and metal fusion means you can fish for hours without fatigue, while the rigid frame prevents any flex or torsion under the immense pressure of a powerful cast or a hard-fighting fish. This ensures that all your cranking power is transferred directly to the fight, giving you superior control and confidence.

Inside this robust housing, the reel´s mechanics operate with flawless precision. The Altair is equipped with stainless steel anti-rust double shielded ball bearings, meticulously engineered to withstand the corrosive effects of salt spray and sand. This double-shielded design provides a formidable barrier against contaminants, ensuring a consistently fluid retrieve and exceptional longevity, session after session.

Casting distance is where the Altair truly excels. Its turned aluminium spool (low capacity match type) is specifically optimized for modern, thin-diameter braided lines. The spool features a precision-engineered V edge, which dramatically reduces friction as the line peels off during the cast, allowing for incredible, chart-topping distances. To ensure your braid remains secure without slipping, the spool also incorporates a knurled band, providing the perfect grip for a solid line foundation, eliminating any loss of power on the hookset.

Frustrating line tangles are a thing of the past thanks to the intelligent Spool Skirt System. This innovative design features a skirt-shaped lower part on the spool that effectively prevents the line from accidentally becoming tangled underneath the rotor—a common issue in windy surf conditions. This means more time fishing and less time dealing with infuriating knots.

When you hook into the fish of a lifetime, the Altair’s drag system gives you the upper hand. The micro-adjustable drag with oversized discs delivers exceptionally smooth and consistent pressure. The oversized surface area dissipates heat and prevents the ´jerky´ performance found in lesser reels, allowing you to play powerful fish with finesse and control. The micro-adjustment dial gives you the precision to fine-tune your drag setting on the fly, perfectly matching it to your line strength and the fish´s fight. Completing this high-performance package is the turned CNC aluminium crank, which provides a solid, ergonomic connection for powerful, efficient retrieves.
