Lofrans Cayman Windlass

LOFRANS Cayman Horizontal Windlass | Reliable Anchoring and Mooring

Upgrade your vessel´s anchoring system with the LOFRANS Cayman Windlass, a benchmark in reliability and performance for the discerning mariner. Engineered for boats and equipment requiring a robust and efficient solution, this horizontal windlass is the ultimate choice for secure anchoring and mooring operations. Its durable construction and intelligent design ensure it can withstand the harsh marine environment, providing you with confidence and peace of mind on the water.

Reliability and Efficiency on board!

The space that is available above and under the deck is the key element to be considered when you are in the process of selecting the proper type of anchor windlass.

Horizontal windlasses are installed on the deck and feature a horizontal rotation in relation to the deck. They are recommended for chain lockers with a reduced height or volume. The electric motor and the gearbox are protected by a cover and they are easily accessible for maintenance.

Also keep in mind that the height between the top of the stacked chain and the underdeck must be 300 mm minimum in order to ensure a fast dropping of the chain in the locker and an optimum performance of the windlass.

The LOFRANS Cayman is meticulously crafted to deliver exceptional power and control. Its design prioritises both functionality and durability, making it an indispensable part of your anchoring and mooring setup. The anodised aluminium body offers superior resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting performance and maintaining its aesthetic appeal through seasons of use.

Experience ultimate control and flexibility with the Cayman’s innovative operational features. The independent gipsy and drum operation allows you to manage the anchor chain and a secondary mooring or warping line separately, providing versatile handling for various docking and anchoring scenarios. For enhanced safety and preparedness, the windlass includes a manual chain release and a crucial manual override system. This ensures you can always deploy or retrieve your anchor, even in the event of a power failure, giving you full control in critical situations.
