Plastimo Leather Spreader Sheath

PLASTIMO Leather Spreader Sheath

Protect your sails from costly chafe with the PLASTIMO Leather Spreader Sheath. This premium fitting elegantly prevents sail damage against spreaders and cross-trees. Combining durable leather with protective neoprene and rubber, it offers a timeless aesthetic and robust defense. The adjustable Velcro strap ensures a secure, universal fit on any spreader size and rig configuration for mainsails and foresails, safeguarding your valuable assets at sea.

An indispensable upgrade for any sailboat, this spreader boot is meticulously designed to provide the ultimate barrier between your rigging and your sails. As your mainsail or genoa makes contact with the spreaders during tacks, gybes, or while sailing downwind, the constant friction and abrasion can lead to tears and premature wear. The PLASTIMO sheath effectively eliminates this risk, extending the life of your sail inventory and giving you peace of mind on the water.

Crafted for performance and longevity, the sheath´s multi-layer construction delivers superior protection. The tough, full-grain leather exterior is naturally resistant to UV rays and the harsh marine environment, while the cushioned neoprene and rubber inner lining absorbs impact and provides a smooth, non-abrasive surface for your sail to glide across. This intelligent combination not only prevents damage but also helps your sails maintain their optimal shape and performance.

Installation is effortless and requires no special tools. The robust, full-length Velcro® fastening system allows for quick fitting and removal, while ensuring the sheath remains firmly in place even in heavy conditions. Its versatile design accommodates a wide range of spreader profiles, from traditional round or oval tubes to modern aerodynamic or swept-back designs, making it a truly universal solution for any monohull or multihull. Beyond its practical function, this leather sheath adds a touch of classic maritime elegance to your rigging, reflecting a commitment to quality and attention to detail.
