Sikaflex®-591 is a multifunctional sealant based on Sik´s Silane Terminated Polymer (STP) technology.

It is suitable for elastic, vibration-resistant joint seals and with it´s excellent resistance against the harsh maritime weathering conditions it can be used for a wide range of applications for a wide variety of interior and exterior sealing applications.

Sikaflex®-591 bonds well to substrates commonly used in the marine industry.

Unmatched Durability in Harsh Marine Environments

The greatest challenge for any marine sealant is the constant exposure to brutal conditions. SIKA 591 is specifically formulated to conquer these challenges. It boasts exceptional resistance to UV radiation, preventing the yellowing, chalking, and degradation that can compromise lesser sealants under the relentless sun. Furthermore, its robust formulation stands strong against the corrosive effects of saltwater, ensuring your seals remain intact and effective season after season. This superior weathering resistance means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and more time enjoying the water with complete peace of mind. It also offers excellent resistance to fungus and mildew, preventing unsightly and damaging growth in damp marine environments.

Versatile Performance for a Multitude of Applications

Why clutter your toolbox with multiple products when one can do it all? SIKA 591 is a true multi-purpose workhorse. Its outstanding adhesion properties allow it to form a powerful, permanent bond with a vast array of marine substrates, including fiberglass (GRP), wood, marine plywood, aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, and most plastics (ABS, PVC). This versatility makes it the ideal sealant for a huge range of interior and exterior jobs, such as:

* Sealing deck fittings, cleats, and hardware
* Bedding and sealing windows, portholes, and hatches
* Creating flexible, waterproof seals for hull and deck joints
* Sealing chainplates and stanchion bases
* General gap and seam sealing above the waterline

Its advanced formulation provides superior elasticity, allowing it to absorb the shock and vibrations from engine-rumble and wave-pounding without cracking or losing adhesion. This permanent flexibility is critical for maintaining a watertight seal on a vessel that is constantly in motion.

Superior Workability and a Professional Finish

Designed for both professional marine technicians and dedicated boat owners, SIKA 591 is remarkably easy to use. Packaged in a convenient 300ml cartridge for standard caulking guns, it has excellent non-sag properties, making overhead and vertical applications clean and simple. The sealant tools beautifully for a smooth, neat finish. Crucially, SIKA 591 is over-paintable with most conventional marine paint systems, allowing you to achieve a perfectly integrated and flawless aesthetic finish on your boat. Choose SIKA 591 Sealant for a robust, reliable, and professional-grade seal that protects your vessel against the elements
