SAnti-fog Deckvest VITO 170N Hammar Automatic Firing Harness

Experience the pinnacle of offshore and racing safety with the SAnti-fog Deckvest VITO 170N Hammar Automatic Firing Harness. Engineered for sailors who demand uncompromising performance, comfort, and reliability, the VITO is the ultimate choice for serious coastal and offshore navigation. This lifejacket harness is not just a piece of safety equipment; it´s a wearable tool designed for constant use in the most challenging marine environments.

Deckvest VITO is the latest inflatable lifejacket harness technology, based on our design work for the Volvo Ocean Race. All teams were equipped with the same inflatable lifejacket harness developed in collaboration with a core group of Volvo offshore sailors. Fundamental to the new design was a lifejacket that crews actually wanted to wear more frequently, with developed custom features. This philosophy is at the heart of the VITO, offering a structured and ergonomic fit that moves with your body, eliminating the bulk and restriction of traditional lifejackets and ensuring you can perform at your best.

The key benefit of the Deckvest VITO is its superior comfort, which encourages all-day wear, ensuring safety is never a second thought. Its lightweight, low-profile design fits snugly over your shoulders, distributing weight evenly and allowing for a full range of movement whether you´re at the helm, on the grinder, or trimming sails. The sleek, form-fitting shape minimises snagging on lines and rigging, a critical advantage during high-intensity manoeuvres.

Main Features:

At its core is a robust and fully integrated ISO 12401 certified deck safety harness, providing a secure attachment point for your safety tether. The VITO includes the revolutionary Harness Release System (HRS™), a discreet yet crucial innovation that allows for the emergency release of the safety line from the harness, even under full load, providing a critical escape option in a towing situation.

Visibility and recovery are paramount. The VITO is equipped with a high-intensity Pylon™ 360° lifejacket light, which is water-activated and sits on a high antenna for all-round visibility. Additionally, Lume-On™ bladder illumination lights are fitted as standard, turning the entire inflated lifejacket bladder into a glowing beacon to aid in night-time location. A structured sprayhood is also included to prevent secondary drowning and improve visibility in choppy seas.

Inflators

This model features the advanced Hammar® Hydrostatic Automatic Inflator. Unlike standard automatic inflators that can be triggered by heavy rain or spray, the Hammar system only activates once submerged under approximately 10cm of water. This is achieved through a hydrostatic valve that responds to water pressure, preventing accidental inflation and ensuring the lifejacket deploys exactly when it´s needed most. A clear indicator window provides instant confirmation of the firing system´s status, giving you complete peace of mind before you even leave the dock.
