Castelli Squall Shell GORE-TEX® jacket

CASTELLI Squall Shell Jacket

Face down the storm and ride on with the Castelli Squall Shell Jacket, the definitive emergency shell for the dedicated male cyclist who refuses to let the weather dictate their training schedule. Engineered for performance in the most challenging conditions, the Squall is your indispensable shield against sudden downpours and chilling winds, offering uncompromising protection without the bulk. This is more than just a rain jacket; it´s a piece of high-performance equipment designed to keep you fast, dry, and focused when the skies open up.

The core of the Squall´s exceptional performance lies in its advanced GORE-TEX® construction, providing legendary waterproof and windproof capabilities. Every seam is meticulously sealed to ensure that not a single drop of water can penetrate, keeping you completely dry even during prolonged exposure to heavy rain. While its protective barrier is absolute, its breathability is equally remarkable. The jacket allows excess heat and moisture vapor from your body to escape, preventing that clammy, overheated feeling during intense efforts. This crucial feature means you can keep the jacket on and continue pushing the pace without sacrificing comfort.

Designed with a cyclist´s posture in mind, the Squall features an anatomic, on-bike fit that minimizes fabric flapping and aerodynamic drag. This is enhanced by innovative GORE-TEX® Topo stretch panels strategically placed in the shoulders, elbows, and side panels. This integrated stretch allows for complete freedom of movement, whether you´re climbing out of the saddle or settled into the drops, ensuring the jacket moves with you, not against you. An internal wrist gaiter creates a seamless seal with your gloves, blocking wind and rain from entering at the cuffs, while a silicone gripper at the waist secures the jacket in place, preventing it from riding up.

Practicality is paramount for any piece of cycling apparel. The Squall excels as a truly compressible shell, packing down small enough to be easily stowed in a rear jersey pocket. This makes it the perfect "just-in-case" layer for long rides with unpredictable forecasts. When visibility drops, large reflective accents on the back ensure you remain seen by others in low-light conditions. A premium YKK® AquaGuard® waterproof zipper provides an additional line of defense against front-facing wind and rain, completing a fortress of protection.
