Product description of Catlike Leaf MTB Helmet

Description summary

Leaf is a helmet dedicated to the Mountain Bike enthusiast. Developed using Catlike technologies, it is one of the best helmets in the Mountain Bike market. In December 2012 the German magazine ?World of MTB? awarded it the prize for Best Value Helmet.

Specifications:

- Weight: 260gr

Technology:

MPS eVo (Multi Position System Evolution)

The innovative retention system MPS (Multi-Position-System) allows optimizing the comfort of the helmet thanks to its 4 points adjustment systems. Designed to adapt to any head size.

Wheel adjustment

The total adjustment, the ultra-light wheel of the MPS-eVo allows adjusting the diameter of the retention to the millimeter with every click, achieving outstanding stability, with the maximum comfort.

Ergonomic adjustment

The ergonomic adjustment of this system provides outstanding stability by means of the side wings, which adjust to the temporal area of the scull.

Furthermore, these wings adapt to all head shapes (oval, elipse, oblong), exchanging the different paddings of different thicknesses inside the helmet. It is recommended to remove these wings on round heads.

Height adjustment
This exclusive retention system also allows adjusting the vertical position of the retention, preventing any discomfort in the occipital area of the skull.

Rear adjustment

The rear adjustment enables the movement of the two supports in order to achieve the ideal position, removing any pressure on the central part of the cervical vertebra.

Design and safety have been perfectly harmonized to protect the occipital area, with LNP technology; helmets with a specific lower rear structure to fully protect this fragile area

EN1078 IMPORTANT NOTE This helmet has been built, tested and approved according to the European regulations ECE/ONU R22.05. TRADEINN is not responsible for the use that may be made of this helmet in other countries that are not subject to this European homologation ECE/ONU R22.05, discouraging the use of this in those countries.

Competitive features

When choosing a helmet for mountain biking, key factors like ventilation, fit, and protection are paramount. The Catlike Leaf MTB Helmet is designed for trail riders, offering a blend of features aimed at comfort and safety. It enters a competitive field alongside several of its own variants, like the Glacier, Majolica, Carbon, and Frosty Spruce models, as well as the Spiuk Dolmen MTB Helmet. While these helmets share a similar price point, the Catlike Leaf distinguishes itself with specific features mentioned in its design.

Where it excels

With 23 large air vents, the Catlike Leaf MTB Helmet is engineered for optimal cooling, making it a strong choice for riders who prioritize airflow on demanding climbs and warm days. The helmet features the MPS EVO 4-in-1 fit system, designed to provide a secure and customizable feel, which is a significant benefit for comfort and stability during off-road excursions. Its in-mold construction and extended rear coverage are designed to offer a robust yet lightweight form of protection, specifically tailored for the demands of mountain biking.

Consider alternatives if...

The provided data does not include specific details on advanced safety technologies like MIPS for any of the compared helmets. Riders seeking helmets explicitly featuring such technologies may need to look at alternatives where this feature is confirmed. While the Catlike Leaf is available in multiple colors, fashion-forward cyclists seeking a specific aesthetic or unique design might find the Spiuk Dolmen or other Catlike variants like the Majolica or Carbon offer different styling options to better match their gear.

Verdict

The Catlike Leaf MTB Helmet stands out as a solid choice for mountain bikers, particularly those who value excellent ventilation and a highly adjustable fit system. Its design, featuring 23 vents and the MPS EVO system, focuses on delivering comfort and security on the trail. While it competes closely in price with its variants and the Spiuk Dolmen, its specific combination of features makes it well-suited for trail adventurers who need reliable performance without necessarily seeking the most advanced or specialized technologies.
