Salomon Ultra Glide 3 Test Day Review

Last Thursday, March 27th, we participated in the Salomon Ultra Glide 3 Test Day, the event to try out the new shoe designed for ultra-distance running. More than 40 trail runners gathered in Collserola, eager to put them to the test.

We were fortunate to have Anna Olivares , brand ambassador and ultra-distance specialist, accompanying us throughout the day. Before heading out for our run, Iru, Salomon´s product technician , explained all the technical details of the shoe: generous cushioning, a 6 mm drop , and a sole designed to grip well on varied terrain without sacrificing comfort.

The route was at dusk, so Petzl provided us with headlamps so we could move safely after dark. We tested the Ultra Glide 3 in real-world conditions , covering mixed terrain, climbs, descents, and technical sections . At the end, Petzl surprised us with a welcome pack of recovery products for everyone, which came in handy after the workout.

During the post-run, several attendees shared their impressions. Jordi , one of the participants, told us: “ The shoe is super comfortable; I didn´t notice the miles on my feet. I was surprised by how light it is for the type of cushioning it has .” Marta , meanwhile, commented: “ On technical downhills, I felt the shoe was very stable; the sole grips more than it might initially seem. It left me with a very good overall feeling. ”

It was a great afternoon of trail running , with a good atmosphere and the opportunity to test a model that we´re sure to see a lot of in long races this season.
