How to choose water skis?

Water skis are specialized equipment used for recreational and competitive water sports. Water skis consist of two individual skis, each with bindings that secure the skier´s feet, and they are typically made of fiberglass or composite materials.

Water skis pack:
A water ski pack typically consists of a pair of water skis, bindings, and sometimes a tow rope. You can buy water skis packs from Talamex, Airhead, and Jobe.

Skill level: Determine your skill level as a water skier. This will help you choose skis that match your abilities.

Type of skis:
Combo skis: Ideal for beginners and recreational skiers. Combo skis typically come as a pair and are versatile, providing stability and ease of use.
Slalom skis: Designed for more experienced skiers looking for higher performance. Slalom skis are for single foot skiing and require more skill and balance.

Ski length: The ski length should also be based on your body weight and the manufacturer´s recommendations.
Binding fit: The bindings should hold your feet securely but not too tight to restrict circulation or cause discomfort.
Materials and construction: Consider the materials used in the construction of the skis. Fiberglass, carbon fiber, or composite materials are commonly used for their durability and performance characteristics.
Weight range: Check the weight range specified by the manufacturer to ensure that the skis are suitable for your body weight.
Rocker style: Skis with a more pronounced rocker provide better maneuverability and are suitable for tricks and jumps. Skis with a flatter rocker offer more stability and are ideal for cruising and slalom skiing.
