OKUMA Altera Spinning Reel: Precision Performance for Every Angler

Discover the perfect blend of performance, durability, and value with the OKUMA Altera spinning reel. Engineered for anglers who demand reliability without compromise, the Altera series delivers a remarkably smooth and powerful experience, making it an ideal choice for targeting a wide variety of freshwater and inshore saltwater species. Whether you are casting lures for bass, drifting for walleye, or jigging for coastal species, the Altera is built to be your trusted partner on the water, providing the technology and strength you need for a successful day of fishing.

At its core, the Altera is constructed with a corrosion-resistant graphite body. This advanced material not only keeps the reel incredibly lightweight to reduce fatigue during long casting sessions but also provides a robust shield against the harsh effects of water and salt, ensuring long-term durability and performance. This is complemented by Okuma’s Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) technology, which creates a significant airflow around the spool, allowing it to dry much faster if it gets wet, minimizing the risk of corrosion.

The heart of the Altera’s exceptionally smooth operation is its precision gearing and bearing system. It features 3 ball bearings + 1 roller bearing that work in harmony to deliver a fluid and effortless retrieve. This is paired with a durable, machine cut brass pinion gear that ensures perfect gear meshing for consistent power and longevity. Instant, rock-solid hooksets are guaranteed thanks to the Quick-Set infinite anti-reverse system, which engages the reel in one direction with zero back-play in the handle.

Line management and fish-fighting capability are paramount in the Altera’s design. The reel is equipped with a high-quality, machine cut 2-tone anodized aluminum spool, providing strength and a smooth surface for excellent line lay and casting distance. When a fish is on, you can rely on the proven multi-disc, Japanese oiled felt drag washers. This system delivers smooth, consistent, and finely adjustable drag pressure, protecting light lines and helping you tire out even the most stubborn fish without jerky or hesitant performance.

Okuma’s proprietary RES II: Computer balanced Rotor Equalizing System eliminates spool wobble for perfect balance, resulting in flawlessly smooth retrieves and enhanced sensitivity. Anglers will appreciate the direct connection and control provided by the rigid metal handle, which prevents flex under heavy loads and efficiently transfers winding power from your arm to the fight. For all-day comfort, the reel is finished with an ergonomic TPE handle knob (T-shape on size 55 & 65 models), offering a secure and comfortable grip in any weather condition.

The OKUMA Altera spinning reel combines modern technology with practical, angler-focused design to create a tool that consistently performs above its price point. It’s the smart choice for anglers looking to upgrade their arsenal with a reel that is smooth, strong, and built to last
