SALMO Slider Sinking Crankbait 70 mm

Discover the unparalleled fish-catching power of the SALMO Slider Sinking Crankbait 70 mm, a true icon in the world of predator fishing. Known affectionately as "The Great Wanderer," the Slider is more than just a lure; it´s a legendary tool that has earned its reputation by consistently outsmarting the largest and most cautious predators in the water.

A legend among pike lures, the Slider will tempt the weariest of pike. With three colours coming into the range in both floating and sinking versions, you now have more options than ever with this proven fish catcher. The 70 mm sinking model is a masterclass in design, engineered to deliver an action so unique and enticing that fish simply cannot resist. Unlike standard crankbaits, the Slider doesn´t have a built-in lip, giving you complete control over its mesmerizing dance.

The key to unlocking the Slider´s magic lies in its distinctive side-to-side gliding action. With sharp, downward jerks of the rod tip, the lure darts erratically from left to right, perfectly mimicking a wounded or disoriented baitfish. This unpredictable movement triggers an aggressive, predatory instinct in species like pike, musky, zander, and large perch. The pause is just as critical; as the sinking Slider slowly flutters down through the water column, it often draws the most explosive strikes from following fish.

This sinking version is particularly effective for targeting suspended fish or working deeper water structures. It allows you to get down to the strike zone quickly and keep the lure in front of the fish for longer periods, increasing your chances of a hook-up. Whether you´re casting over weed beds, along drop-offs, or into deep holes, the Slider 70 S gives you the versatility to adapt and conquer.

How to Fish the Slider:
Do not retrieve this lure at a constant speed. Its effectiveness comes from an active retrieve. Cast out and engage your reel, then begin a sequence of sharp, rhythmic twitches or longer pulls with your rod tip pointed towards the water. Always maintain a slightly slack line between jerks to allow the lure to glide freely to the side. Vary the pace and length of your jerks and pauses until you find the cadence that ignites the bite.
